2022 Week Three Heisman Rankings

Last Word on College Football Heisman Rankings

All good things must come to an end. With all due respect to one of the best rivalries in College Football between Army and Navy this weekend the regular season has nearly completed. Before we get to the bowl season and eventual playoffs there is one piece of business left to attend to. We still have to crown our 2017 Heisman Trophy winner. Championship week gave Baker Mayfield and Bryce Love one last opportunity to make their case to be College Football’s best player.  How will the last performances of the season impact our final 2017 Heisman rankings this week?

On Monday, it was announced that Baker Mayfield, Bryce Love, and Lamar Jackson would be finalists in New York for the award. According to the experts, Mayfield has had this locked up for weeks and only a monumental collapse would allow Love or Jackson to move into the top spot. With his four-touchdown performance against TCU, Mayfield solidified his stance as the best player in the country.

Jackson had an outstanding performance in his final game of the season against Kentucky. He was able to exact some revenge of one of his worst games a season ago to lead the Cardinals to a dominating win.

I firmly believe if Penny played for another school that had a little more of the national spotlight, he would be number two in our rankings. Be that as it may, Penny has hit the 2,000-yard mark this season.

The end of the season has not been kind to both Penn State and Barkley. But, like the team, Barkley has bounced back well over the last couple of weeks. Based on how he started, Barkley should at least get an invite to New York.
