2022 Week Three Heisman Rankings

Last Word on College Football Heisman Rankings

College Football, you’ve done it again! Just when we think that we have you figured out, we get a curve ball. Oklahoma was the story of the weekend in losing to Iowa State. Baker Mayfield played well, but how far will that loss drop him? Conversely, Penn State dominated but Saquon Barkley didn’t have a dominant performance. Bryce Love continues his tear through the country as well. But, was it enough to jump over Barkley and Mayfield? The race is wide open in week three of our rankings.

RB | Stanford                                               Next Game: 10/14 vs Oregon

You can’t keep a good man down. Well, the Utah defense was able to do that relatively well for three quarters. But, Love had another Heisman moment with a 68-yard touchdown run to seal the game for the Cardinal.

2. Saquon Barkley

RB | Penn State                                        Next Game: 10/21 vs Michigan

Do you want the good news or the bad news first? The bad news is that Barkley struggled to get going for the majority of the game behind a struggling offensive line. If you take away one of his carries, he would have totaled 22 yards on 16 carries. The good news is that he was able to get free for a 53 yard touchdown and did score twice on the afternoon.

3. Rashaad Penny

RB | San Diego State                           Next Game: 10/14 vs BOISE STATE

Penny continues his solid play and will continue to be the best player that you never see. He once again carried the load as the Aztecs won easily over UNLV. Penny will have his highest profile game remaining as they face Boise State this weekend.

QB | Oklahoma                                 Next Game: 10/14 vs Texas

It couldn’t have been much worse of a weekend for Oklahoma. The Sooners lost at home to Iowa State and as Oklahoma dropped in the polls as did Mayfield in our rankings. Oklahoma will have more high profile and national games to up Mayfield’s stock.

5. Luke Falk

QB | Washington State                           Next Game: 10/13 AT CALIFORNIA

The Cougars may very well be the darlings of college football in 2017. Luke Falk is the epicenter of that attention in Pullman. Falk is benefiting from a much improved defense, but his numbers continue to speak for themselves.
