Baylor has fired DeMarkco Butler, the Associate Director of Football Operations. KWTX-TV in Waco says Butler was found to have sent inappropriate text messages to a teenager. The firing by new Bears head coach Matt Rhule was confirmed by a university spokesman, but there has been no further comment.

Baylor Football Fires Another
Butler is the second staffer from the football program fired by Rhule since he took over four months ago. Strength and conditioning coach Brandon Washington was fired in February after being arrested in a prostitution sting. Washington was charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and was fired within 24 hours. Both Butler and Washington were brought to Baylor as part of the new coaching staff.
Rhule left Temple and took over the beleaguered Baylor football program in December with the mandate to clean up the program. Baylor has gone through a year-and-a-half of Title IX lawsuits, sexual assault allegations against football players, and NCAA and Big 12 investigations. There also continues to be a pending lawsuit dealing with the dismissal of former head coach Art Briles.
