Ole Miss Football Self Imposes Postseason Ban

Ole Miss Football Self Imposes Postseason Ban

School Accused of Eight New Football Related Violations

Ole Miss will not be eligible for the SEC Championship or any bowl this year. The school announced today that it is imposing a year long postseason ban citing NCAA allegations of lack of institutional control. This ban also means that the school will forfeit the $7.8 million it is slated to receive from the conference. The NCAA has yet to impose any of its own sanctions on Ole Miss, stemming from a multi year investigation.

The ban stems from 21 rule violations that the school allegedly made from 2013-2017. Some of these allegations include payment of prospective students. None of these new allegations, however, are a result of the Leremy Tunsil NFL Draft night scandal.

The school will contest some of these new allegations.

You can view the allegations in their entirety and the school’s response in the video below.
