Among them is crowd favorite Emma Raducanu, who will be looking to reach another semifinal on Tour. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering predictions for every match. Who do you think advances to the final four?

WTA Cluj-Napoca Quarterfinal Predictions

Yue Yuan vs Daria Snigur

Head-to-head: Yuan 0-1 Snigur

Both of these players have had contrasting paths to the quarterfinals, with Yue Yuan having to win back-to-back marathon matches, while Daria Snigur has made it all the way from qualifying to the quarters without even dropping a set. I think that could be a cause for concern for Yuan, as up against Snigur’s aggressive hitting, especially off the backhand wing, tired legs may become an issue, particularly if this match goes deep again.
Prediction: Snigur in 3

Xinyu Wang vs Oleksandra Oliynykova

Head-to-head: First meeting

While Oleksandra Oliynykova has had some decent showings both in this tournament and to start 2026, on the back of her defensive grinding playstyle, Wang Xinyu is likely to be a big step up in competition for the Ukrainian. It is quite likely that Wang’s crisp groundstrokes should be enough to break through Oliynykova’s defenses and see her through to the semifinals.
Prediction: Wang in 2

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="3ec16c2e89be0acadd2b088db7a33eb9" image-id="imbrERmvfuQo" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 5324px; aspect-ratio: 5324/3551;" ></smartframe-embed>

Anastasia Potapova vs Sorana Cirstea

Head-to-head: Potapova 1-1 Cirstea

This match is likely to be won by the player who is having the better serving day and can take the initiative in the baseline rallies first, as each player relies on aggressive groundstrokes which, if they catch momentum, can spell trouble for the opponent. While Anastasia Potapova enters the match as the defending champion, Sorana Cirstea has played the better tennis so far this tournament and, in front of a passionate home crowd, should edge this match as well.
Prediction: Cirstea in 3

Emma Raducanu vs Maja Chwalinska

Head-to-head: First meeting

Maja Chwalinska has done remarkably well to make it all the way from the qualifiers to the quarterfinals, on the back of her lefty angles and court craft, which were on full display in her tight three-set upset win in the previous round. But against Emma Raducanu, a player with more weapons and options on court than any of her previous opponents so far, the task at hand might just be too big.
Prediction: Raducanu in 2

Main Photo Credit: Geoff Burke-Imagn Images

After a competitive first four days of the main draw at the WTA Cluj-Napoca, the quarterfinals are set and feature a host of seeded players who are looking to make the most of what is still a pretty young season.
