The Czech reached a career high ranking by the week&#8217;s end. Ultimately, the 18-year-old lost to Madison Keys 6-4 6-1 ahead of her Australian Open debut. She now faces the tough task of playing home-favorite Maya Joint in the first round.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elisabetta Cocciaretto:\u00a0<\/strong><em>+24: World No. 80 -&gt; World No. 56<\/em><\/p>\n<p>From qualifying to hoisting a second career WTA Tour trophy,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span>Cocciaretto upset No. 3 seed Iva Jovic to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Kc8RKD0u4hc\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">win the Hobart International<\/a>. The Italian, as a result, rose 24 spots in the rankings. She was ranked as high as No. 29 in the summer of 2023. Cocciaretto only dropped one set en route to the WTA 250 title.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kimberly Birrell:\u00a0<\/strong><em>+31: World No. 107 -&gt; World No. 76<\/em><\/p>\n<p>She didn&#8217;t lift a trophy like Cocciaretto, but what a week two it was for Birrell. The Gold Coast, Australia, native is a bit short of her career-high ranking of No. 60, but she made huge strides in the rankings after reaching the Adelaide semifinals. She defeated the higher-ranked Jaqueline Cristian 5-7 6-1 7-5 in the quarterfinals, a win that granted her around 100 ranking points alone.
