The WTA United Cup semifinal is here. It will be Coco Gauff vs Iga Swiatek, who will playing for the sixteenth<\/em> time in their careers. Swiatek has dominated the rivalry at 11-4, but Gauff has won the last three in a row, including last year’s match right here in the United Cup. As mentioned above, these two have a long and robust history. There’s no doubt that Swiatek has enjoyed the lion’s share of the matches, but it speaks to Gauff’s talent that she’s managed to win the last three matches in a row. Two of Gauff’s wins have come on a hardcourt. Swiatek has five wins against Gauff on a hardcourt. What you might find surprising is that only one<\/em> of their matches has gone to a third set. That match was Gauff’s only win outside of the last three in a row, which was a semifinal match at the 2023 WTA Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

Coco Gauff is 2-1 on the year already, with her one loss coming to a 7.5-1 underdog in Jessica Bouzas Maneiro on the 4th of January. This match would be a fabulous way for her to begin her 2026 season and would set the tone for what should be just the first of their many projected matches against one another this year. Gauff also knows she can beat Swiatek in this very tournament, as she did last year at the United Cup.<\/p>\n

Swiatek enters this match 3-0 on the year. She has been the overwhelming favorite in every one of her matches. The lines for this match are the closest she’s seen this year. While Swiatek did have issues against Eva Lys in her first match, allowing it to go three sets, she ultimately got the job done with an impressive second and third sets.<\/p>\n

Iga Swiatek is the favorite for this match, but the average odds are just over 2-1 in favor of Swiatek. Aside from the lengthy history of winning against Gauff, Swiatek has had enough troubles against her lately for the books to approach with caution. Whatever happens, it’s likely to go two sets. This is why I think Swiatek winning 2:0 for 2.2 on Bet365 is my choice for best bet. You could take her straight for 1.5 or you could play the really strong odds.<\/p>\n

That being said, Swiatek<\/strong> winning 2:0 is a value bet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Second Bet<\/h3>\n

While Gauff is an underdog in this match, there’s enough value in taking Gauff. One of the best bets is taking Gauff straight up for 2.8 on UniBet. You don’t even have to chance a bet on total games to make a decent sum. Another decent bet would be taking the under on 2.5 sets for all the reasons mentioned above. I think I would avoid a games bet in this match.<\/p>\n

That being said, Gauff<\/strong>\u00a0winning is a value bet.<\/strong><\/p>\n
