Carlos Alcaraz officially ended his 2025 tennis season<\/a> due to a right hamstring muscle issue that prevented him from participating in the Davis Cup Finals in Bologna this week.<\/p>\n

Despite the year-end setback, the Spaniard\u2019s team has already outlined a detailed plan for a grueling, pivotal off-season to advance his development.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz\u2019s Intense Off-Season Schedule<\/h2>\n

Alcaraz Shifts Into Full Recovery Mode<\/h3>\n

In a virtual press conference<\/a>, the Spaniard said he will devote the time he had initially been set aside for the Davis Cup Finals entirely to treating the injury he suffered at the ATP Finals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis week I\u2019ll be doing treatment every day. I\u2019ll dedicate myself to exercises to recover. We\u2019ll have specific things every day, exercises, treatment for the next two weeks, so I\u2019ll do whatever it takes to be ready. I\u2019ll take this very seriously, I\u2019ll focus a lot on recovery, and I hope to be well as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alcaraz will officially be off tennis duties until December 6, taking around three weeks to recover, rest, and take a brief vacation before restarting. He will then travel to the United States for two exhibition matches on December 7 and December 8, against Frances Tiafoe in New Jersey and Joao Fonseca in Miami, respectively. Regarding the exhibitions, whose status remains uncertain due to the muscle injury, he said<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, it\u2019s always a pleasure to be in New York, I love playing there, and I\u2019m very eager and excited to play there again. Against Frances, it\u2019s always a great challenge; it\u2019s always a pleasure. And obviously, in Miami, with Joao, I think the crowd will be very involved. The energy I feel there is great, and I appreciate that, so it will be very fun days that I\u2019m looking forward to experiencing.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the exhibitions, each reportedly earning him a seven-figure appearance fee, Alcaraz will head back home to Murcia for a short break. He will begin his preseason on December 13, four weeks after playing his last official match of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n
