The day’s schedule features a mix of established stars and rising talents, promising an exciting array of matches at the National Tennis Center. As always, we offer our predictions on who will advance to the next round.

ATP Beijing Day 2 Predictions

Arthur Cazaux vs Juncheng Shang

Head–to–Head: First Meeting

Juncheng Shang continues his comeback in Beijing. After a lengthy absence, the Chinese talent secured his first victory since last year in Chengdu and aims to build on that success here. As a wild card, he’ll believe he has a strong chance against qualifier Arthur Cazaux, who has had difficulty making an impression in recent main draws on hard court. The two previously faced each other in qualifying in Atlanta two years ago, with Shang winning.

The 20-year-old’s current ranking doesn’t reflect his actual abilities, and he’s very much capable of upsetting the Frenchman in this one.
Prediction: Shang in 3

Tallon Griekspoor vs Corentin Moutet

Head–to–Head: Griekspoor 1 vs 0 Moutet

Tallon Griekspoor will take on Corentin Moutet in a rematch of the Mallorca final earlier in the season, where the Dutch player emerged victorious. However, he is currently seeking redemption after suffering six consecutive losses on Tour.

Moutet is positioned just six spots below Griekspoor after attaining a career-best ranking of #37 to buttress the superb season he’s had.

Griekspoor has had difficulty maintaining a high level of tennis recently, but I think this is where he finds redemption against an opponent he’s defeated before. It will be close.
Prediction: Griekspoor in 3

Embed from Getty Images

Alexander Bublik vs Adrian Mannarino

Head–to–Head: Bublik 1 vs 0 Mannarino

Alexander Bublik will be eager to maintain his fantastic run in 2025 as he heads to Beijing. The Kazakhstani player has climbed to a career-high ranking of 16th in the world and arrives here following his fourth Tour-level title of the year in Hangzhou.

Although Mannarino is 37 years old, he continues to produce impressive results, especially on hardcourts, having reached the round of 16 at the US Open and advancing through qualifying here without losing a set.

If Bublik is not too worn out, he should be much stronger in this matchup, but the Frenchman will be hoping to exploit any lapse in focus from his opponent. That being said, we don’t anticipate the Kazakhstani letting his guard down, especially as he can still qualify for Turin with a deep run here.
Prediction: Bublik in 2

Lorenzo Musetti vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

Head–to–Head: Musetti 3 vs 0 Mpetshi Perricard

Lorenzo Musetti will aim to bounce back from a disappointing defeat in the Chengdu final by starting strong in Beijing. The Italian squandered two match points before falling to qualifier Alejandro Tabilo, once again finishing as the runner-up in a tournament where he has placed second twice before.

The World #9 faces a challenging draw as he goes up against the big-serving Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Musetti has won all three of their past encounters, including a recent four-set match at the US Open, and the outcome hinges on how Musetti handles a seventh consecutive individual final defeat at any level.

If he can regroup, the fourth seed is likely to have too much variety in his game for the Frenchman, though it may cost him a set to find his rhythm.
Prediction: Musetti in 3

Main Photo Credit: John E.
