ATP Davis Cup – World Group Teams Men – Qualifying Semifinals<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fourteen nations compete in seven home-or-away ties, each played over two days:<\/p>\n

Day 1: Two singles matches
\nDay 2: One doubles match followed by two singles matches<\/p>\n

The participating teams include the winners of the 2025 Qualifiers 1st Round, along with one wildcard entry.<\/p>\n

Australia – Belgium<\/strong><\/p>\n

1st potential matchup<\/h3>\n

Alex de Minaur – Collignon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alex de Minaur has won four of his last five matches. The last match he played was at the US Open, where he reached the quarterfinals. He was eventually stopped by Auger-Aliassime, losing in four tight sets. Around two months ago, the Australian won the title in Washington. On the other hand, Collignon was stopped in the third round at the US Open. He upset Ruud in the second round and was later stopped by Lehecka in the third round. His most significant results this season were at the Challenger Tour level. We expect de Minaur to dominate and win easily.<\/p>\n

2nd potential matchup<\/h3>\n

Jordan Thompson – Zizou Bergs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jordan Thompson has lost three of his last five matches. The last match he played was at the US Open, where he lost to Mannarino in the second round in four sets. The Australian is outside the top 50 in the rankings. He struggled with the injuries throughout the season.\u00a0 On the other hand, Bergs lost against Munar in the third round of the US Open. He is also lurking around the top 50 in the rankings. Thompson struggled with his form and fitness this season. We expect Bergs to be a better player and get the first win for Belgium.<\/p>\n

3rd potential matchup<\/h3>\n

Peers\/Hijikata – Gille\/Vliegen<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gille and Vliegen are both in terrible form. On the other hand, Peers and Hijikata had solid results this season with their partners. We expect the Australians to win easily.<\/p>\n

4th potential matchup<\/h3>\n

Alex de Minaur – Zizou Bergs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alex de Minaur is by far the best player from both teams. Bergs may keep this match tight, but we expect de Minaur to win considering his experience and current form. Last season in Hertogenbosch, de Minaur won in straight sets against Bergs. We expect a similar outcome tomorrow as well.<\/p>\n

5th potential matchup<\/h3>\n

Jordan Thompson –\u00a0 Raphael Collignon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jordan Thompson enjoys playing in front of the home crowd. Colignon had a solid run at the US Open, but quality-wise, Thompson is a better player. We expect Thompson to dominate on his serve and backhand side. This will be a one-sided match.<\/p>\n

Best Bet to Make<\/h2>\n

‘The Australians have better singles players. We expect them to dominate against Belgium. Alex de Minaur is by far the best player from both teams and will get two wins easily. Australia dominated against Sweden in the opening qualifying round. We expect the same thing against Belgium this week.<\/p>\n

That being said, Australia winning is a value bet.<\/p>\n
