The matches are going to be intriguing, and as always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for every match on the slate for Day 1.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Davis Cup Predictions: The Netherlands vs Argentina<\/h2>\n<h4>Jesper de Jong vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Head-to-Head<\/strong>: first meeting<\/p>\n<p>The absence of Tallon Griekspoor allows Jesper de Jong to make his Davis Cup debut, and he will look to get off to a winning start. It&#8217;s going to be a tough match against Tomas Martin Etcheverry, but the Dutch player has a good record on indoor hard courts this season, and his flat groundstrokes will be effective. Etcheverry is no pushover on this surface, but he needs time to set up his shots and might struggle with de Jong&#8217;s power. He was a key figure in their finals run last year and will need to do well here to keep his country&#8217;s ambitions alive. He has the game to excel on fast courts, but can lack the discipline at times, which he can&#8217;t do against <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2022\/03\/31\/francisco-cerundolo-linda-fruhvirtova-sibling\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">a solid player like Francisco Cerundolo<\/a>. These two met earlier this year, where the Argentinian won in straight sets. However, the indoor courts should help Zandschulp put up a better fight.
