Our panelists offer their predictions for every match on day 6.

Mirra Andreeva vs Hailey Baptiste

Ilemona: Andreeva has moved through the draw with her usual mix of control and craft, while Baptiste pulled off an impressive win over Victoria Mboko in round two. They’ve never played before, but both bring plenty of shot-making to the table. If Baptiste can keep the rallies short, this might be tighter than expected. Prediction: Andreeva in 2

Jordan: Baptiste has enjoyed a good few months. She does not hit with overwhelming power and relies on extending the rallies and frustrating her opponents. I doubt that style will work against Andreeva, who should thrive with time on her shots. Prediction: Andreeva in 2

Steen: Baptiste is at the peak of her powers, a career high ranking and arrival in the top 50 is here. The 23 year old has two impressive early round wins, but now she’s facing a tennis superstar at Wimbledon. It’s been a great run, but that run ends here. Andreeva has already matched her 2024 win total of 34 and we are only in July. Andreeva continues to win without dropping a set. Prediction: Andreeva in 2

Barbora Krejcikova vs Emma Navarro

Embed from Getty Images

Ilemona: Navarro’s grass form has been building nicely, and she looked sharp in her first two rounds. Krejcikova, fresh off another grueling three setter in her second round win over Caroline Dolehide, brings a bit more grass pedigree into their first ever meeting. If this turns into a battle of placement and patience, expect some swings in momentum with the fresher player likely coming through.
Prediction: Navarro in 3

Jordan: This could be one of the matches of the tournament. The defending Wimbledon champion plays last year’s quarterfinalist Navarro, who is a very good grass-court player. My instinct is that the American will end Krejcikova’s defense. She played terrifically in her opening matches and will not panic against the Czech’s variety.
Prediction: Navarro in 3

Steen: Ignore the seedings, these are two of the top grass court players on tour, the defending champion Krejcikova has labored in both of her matches thus far, needing three sets to get through. Navarro has decimated her first two opponents after some solid grass court warm ups. History favors Krejcikova, but current form favors Navarro, who is brimming with confidence. Prediction: Navarro in 2

Liudmila Samsonova vs Daria Kasatkina

Embed from Getty Images

Ilemona: Samsonova hasn’t dropped a set so far and looks right at home on grass, serving big and keeping rallies short. Kasatkina had to battle past Irina-Camelia Begu in three, using her court sense to survive the tougher moments. Samsonova won their only previous meeting, and if she keeps dictating, this one could stay on her terms.
Prediction: Samsonova in 2

Jordan: There is a fascinating clash of styles in this matchup. Samsonova’s power and flat shots vs Kasatkina’s athleticism and craft. Although Kasatkina defends excellently, the way Samsonova is striking the ball right now could make her very challenging to stop.
Prediction: Samsonova in 2

Steen: Kasatkina has had a very average season, Samsonova has been slightly better, and she hasn’t dropped a set in her first two matches. I don’t see Samsonova faltering here against a Kasatkina that is more limited than she has been in previous years. Prediction: Samsonova in 2

Zeynep Sonmez vs Ekaterina Alexandrova

Ilemona: Sonmez continues her surprise run with two gutsy wins, including a big one over Wang Xinyu. Alexandrova’s looked steady through the early rounds and has more experience at this stage. If Sonmez keeps swinging freely, she could make this uncomfortable.
Prediction: Alexandrova in 3

Jordan: Sonmez’s run has been unexpected. She will need to handle much powerful serving and hitting from Alexandrova. Sonmez is usually comfortable defending and reacting to what her opponent does. The Turkish player has a decent chance of winning again.
Prediction: Sonmez in 2

Steen: Sonmez is a great story, but both of her wins came against unseeded opponents. The 23 year old is having one of the best weeks of her career, but Alexandrova’s level should be too high of a summit to clear. The Russian with a power tennis game is yet to drop a set and she’s a remarkable 27-13 on the year, given her good grass court form, don’t count Alexandrova out in terms of title contenders.
