Four More Tennis Players Confirm Retirement In 2025<\/h2>\n

1.\u00a0 Yanina Wickmayer<\/h2>\n

Retirement is imminent for WTA player Yanina Wickmayer<\/strong>. The former World No. 12 and 2009 US Open semifinalist will “write the last pages” of her tennis career at this year’s Wimbledon<\/a>. Wickmayer, 35, is a six-time champion on the WTA Tour and announced her retirement<\/a> in an Instagram post.<\/p>\n

2. Caroline Garcia<\/h2>\n

The second player in the list is Caroline Garcia<\/strong>. The 31-year-old announced on her social media handles that this will be her final season on the professional scene. Once tipped as a future No. 1 by retired British legend Andy Murray, Garcia peaked<\/a> at a career-high ranking of No. 4. She won 11 career titles–her biggest was the 2022 WTA Finals. After dealing with many injury setbacks in the last few years, Garcia will retire after playing “a few more tournaments” in the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

3. Nicolas Mahut<\/h2>\n

The third name on this list is a stalwart in French men’s tennis. Doubles specialist Nicolas Mahut<\/strong> will retire at the end of the season. The 43-year-old will play his final tournament at either the US Open<\/a> or the Paris Masters on home turf. He won four career titles in singles and 37 in doubles. He held the doubles No. 1 ranking for over 30 weeks and won the career Grand Slam in that discipline. Mahut will fondly be remembered for taking part in the longest match in professional tennis match, spanning three days and lasting over 11 hours at Wimbledon in 2010 (lost to John Isner).<\/p>\n
