That means three of the opening round matches will be completed on Day 3. Three round of 16 contests are also scheduled for Wednesday, and we predict them in this article. Which players do you think will win?

WTA Den Bosch Day 3 Predictions

Bernarda Pera vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto

Head-to-head: Pera 4-1 Cocciaretto

Grass is Pera’s least natural surface. However, the American improved on it last year, reaching the third round of Wimbledon having never previously won a match at SW19. She also defeated the No. 4 seed Magda Linette in a thrilling contest to start her tournament in Den Bosch. Cocciaretto’s game is more suited to grass, but the Italian might have a slight mental block against Pera due to their head-to-head. None of those previous matches were on grass, though, which should give Cocciaretto belief. Her firepower is backed to be enough to overcome Pera in those conditions.
Prediction: Cocciaretto in 3

Veronika Kudermetova vs Greet Minnen

Head-to-head: Kudermetova 1-0 Minnen

Kudermetova cannot afford to underestimate Minnen after she defeated 2022 Australian Open runner-up Danielle Collins in the opening round. The Russian’s attacking style is not dissimilar to Collins’, and Minnen will try to frustrate once again. Kudermetova’s better serve than Collins, who had a terrible serving day against Minnen, should help her. The Belgian is bound to give chances on her serve, and will find it difficult to win if she cannot get into enough service games.
Prediction: Kudermetova in 2

Embed from Getty Images

Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Anna Blinkova

Head-to-head: Alexandrova 3-0 Blinkova

2023 champion in Den Bosch Alexandrova enters the grass-court swing after a solid run to the fourth-round of the French Open. Her game is capable of doing even more damage on grass than clay. Compatriot Blinkova has had an okay season, regularly winning opening-round matches without going any further. Her defence will struggle to hold up against Alexandrova if the 30-year-old’s serve and groundstrokes consistently find their targets. Blinkova prefers to attack and often finds things challenging when facing an opponent with more firepower.
Prediction: Alexandrova in 2

Main Photo Credit: Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The opening two days of the grass-court WTA tournament in Den Bosch was interrupted by rain.
