She is in the main draw after being given a wild card. Ruzic qualified with impressive wins against Yuan Yue and Jule Niemeier. Grant could become a significant player in the future, but I think Ruzic will stop the teenager from winning at her home event.<br \/>\n<em>Prediction: Ruzic in 2<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>Elena-Gabriela Ruse vs Polina Kudermetova<\/h4>\n<p>Head-to-head: Ruse 1-0 Kudermetova<\/p>\n<p>Both players will try to implement their aggressive style in the slow conditions in Rome. Although Ruse had to qualify due to her ranking, she is very dangerous on clay. The Romanian&#8217;s heavy forehand can hit through the court and cause Kudermetova trouble. Avanesyan is among the hardest players to hit past on clay, and that effect is heightened because of the slow courts in Rome. Although Cocciaretto has proven she can beat Avanesyan, how many balls Avanesyan can retrieve because of the conditions might prove decisive.<br \/>\n<em>Prediction: Avanesyan in 3<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>Ashlyn Krueger vs Anna Bondar<\/h4>\n<p>Head-to-head: First meeting<\/p>\n<p>Krueger faces a similar challenge to her match against Anastasia Potapova at the Madrid Open. Unsurprisingly, the American was the aggressor in that match, but Potapova&#8217;s grit prevailed in three sets. While Bondar&#8217;s game is similar, she does not implement it as well as Potapova.
