The young Italian has carried that form into Madrid this week with a commanding win in his first round. He now faces Frances Tiafoe, who is yet to find his footing this year, especially on clay. The Italian withdrew from Barcelona last week and it remains to be seen if he is fully recovered. He faces Matteo Arnaldi, a great young talent but with a one-dimensional baseline game style, which should suit Djokovic perfectly to settle in this week.
