Many exciting players including past champions will be in action. This article features top seed Taylor Fritz who will face Arthur Rinderknech. As always, we here at LWOT will offer our predictions for every match on the slate. But who will advance?

ATP Dallas Day 3 Predictions

Jaume Munar vs Yunchaokete Bu

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Jaume Munar is currently playing some of his best hard-court tennis and should be confident going into this match. However, his record at indoor hard courts is not good and his last tour-level win on the indoor hard courts came in 2022. On the other hand, Yunchaokete Bu has been very effective indoors and is coming off a quarterfinal run in Montpellier. Bu has more firepower and can be very destructive when playing well. Munar will need to perform exceptionally well to win this.
Prediction: Bu in 3

Roberto Carballes Baena vs Michael Mmoh

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Michael Mmoh did well in the qualifying rounds and will play his first main draw match since April last year. This is Mmoh’s best surface and he has a good shot at winning this match against someone who isn’t that comfortable on indoor hard courts. Roberto Carballes Baena has displayed some good form this season and is probably playing his best hard-court tennis. However, he still has flaws on low-bouncing surfaces and needs to be careful.
Prediction: Carballes Baena in 3

Embed from Getty Images

Reilly Opelka vs Alexander Shevchenko

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Reilly Opelka has made a wonderful start to the season and was close to beating Tomas Machac at the Australian Open despite being physically compromised. Opelka is a two-time Dallas Open champion, and his powerful serve and groundstrokes make him a strong favourite to win this match. Alexander Shevchenko has played well on indoor courts in the past, but his current form isn’t good enough to challenge Opelka.
Prediction: Opelka in 2

Taylor Fritz vs Arthur Rinderknech

Head-to-Head: Fritz 2-0 Rinderknech

Taylor Fritz took a shocking loss to Gael Monfils at the Australian Open and will be looking to get back to winning ways. Fritz is the top seed and a favourite to win the title. He has a difficult first-round match against Arthur Rinderknech, who is a good player on indoor courts. These two also have some history which makes this match even more exciting. I won’t be surprised if the Frenchman makes it a close affair but Fritz should prevail.
Prediction: Fritz in 3

Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

Seven first-round matches are scheduled on Day 3 of the ATP Dallas Open.
