We split the day&#8217;s eight matches between this and a separate article&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2025\/01\/17\/australian-open-day-7-womens-predictions-swiatek-raducanu\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">featuring Iga Swiatek vs Emma Raducanu<\/a>. Predicting these matches are Jordan Reynolds, Manuel Traquete, and Andreas Pelekis. Who do you think will advance?<\/p>\n<h2>Australian Open Day 7 Women&#8217;s Predictions<\/h2>\n<h4>Madison Keys vs Danielle Collins<\/h4>\n<p><em>Jordan:<\/em><br \/>\nExpect Keys to receive almost all the crowd support after Collins taunted the Australian fans after beating Destanee Aiava. Keys scrapped through unconvincingly in the last round and was not at the level seen during her run to the Adelaide International title. I feel Collins might thrive as the pantomime villain and reach the fourth round.<br \/>\n<em>Prediction: Collins in 3<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Manuel:<\/em><br \/>\nKeys has started 2025 in amazing form, looking like a real dark horse in this tournament, while Collins did herself no favors by antagonizing the Australian crowd in the previous round. Given current form, Keys should be able to advance here.<br \/>\n<em>Predictions: Keys in 2<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Andreas:<\/em><br \/>\nA big hitting match is on the cards here. Keys is an impressive 9-1 on the 2025 season, and her forehand has looked as dangerous as ever. Lys is capable of weathering a storm and I expect this to go to the wire. Overall, the Romanian is narrowly favored to triumph.<br \/>\n<em>Prediction: Cristian in 3<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Manuel:<\/em><br \/>\nBy ranking, this is easily the worst match of the day, but it should be pretty interesting, with both players surely itching at this rare opportunity for a deep Slam run. All of their three previous matchups were close, but Lys ended up pulling through in all of them and the same is bound to happen again here.<br \/>\n<em>Prediction: Lys in 3<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Andreas:<\/em><br \/>\nWhat an opportunity for either player here. Lys, a lucky loser, has nothing to lose after two big wins, while Cristian hasn\u2019t lost a set yet. This match should come down to nerves and managing the pressure of making the second week of a slam. The Brazilian is adept at soaking up pace and pressure and frustrating her opponents. Kudermetova often struggles against opponents who utilize that style.<br \/>\n<em>Prediction: Haddad Maia in 2<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Manuel:<\/em><br \/>\nDespite the large difference in ranking, the difference in level, especially on this surface, is marginal at best. Kudermetova has been playing quite well this week and has great chances to continue her run here.<br \/>\n<em>Prediction: Kudermetova in 3<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Andreas:<\/em><br \/>\nKudermetova got a big win over Katie Boulter in the second round, but this will be a tough out for the Russian. Haddad Maia won the pair\u2019s last two matches in Asia last fall, and didn\u2019t drop a set. The Tunisian has endured a rough last 12 months. However, she is the type of player who could come alive in front of a supportive crowd if Navarro is off her game. The American\u2019s impressive mentality makes me confident she will know to be ready from the start in this contest.<br \/>\n<em>Prediction: Navarro in 2<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Manuel:<\/em><br \/>\nNavarro is one of the fastest rising players on tour, but <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2024\/12\/15\/ons-jabeur-2024-review-ons-due-for-a-reset\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Jabeur is very seasoned at this level<\/a>, having come close to winning a Slam multiple times before. She might well use that experience to pull through here and start another deep Slam run.<br \/>\n<em>Prediction: Jabeur in 3<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Andreas:<\/em><br \/>\nThis should be an exciting match because of the contrast in styles. Jabeur\u2019s tricky slices and variety will pose a challenge for Navarro, who has battled through multiple three-setters. Navarro was lower ranked at the time, but Jabeur did win their lone match 6-3 6-2 in 2022.
