Will Keys be able to claim a second Adelaide title, or will her opponent claim a first trophy on Australian soil?

WTA Adelaide Final Prediction

Jessica Pegula vs Madison Keys

Head-to-Head: Pegula 1-1 Keys

Pegula, the tournament’s top seed, has rebounded impressively after a disappointing showing at the WTA Finals, reaching the final in Adelaide without dropping a set. While she benefited from Ashlyn Krueger’s mid-match retirement, Pegula also delivered convincing performances against difficult opponents in Maria Sakkari and Yulia Putintseva, showcasing her form and confidence.

Madison Keys, on the other hand, was not seeded despite being a Top 20 player, a testament to the fantastic strength of the event. Regardless, she has played scintillating tennis throughout the week. She gave no chance to either Kasatkina or Haddad Maia, both of whom were not even able to break Keys’ serve once. She also came on top of a rollercoaster against Ostapenko, where she had to come back from a set down. And in the semifinals, she benefited from a mid-match retirement too, this one from Samsonova, to advance into the final.

Predicting this match is no easy task. Pegula is the more consistent and stable player, something which could tip the scales in her favor. She has had a very mature tournament performance so far, and she is looking very confident. However, when Madison Keys finds her rhythm, is serving this well and is crushing her forehand like this, she is nearly unplayable. While Pegula has the tactical abilities to out-maneuver her, Keys demonstrated in the 2023 US Open, their last encounter, that if she’s playing this well she can overpower Pegula and pull off a minor upset to claim a second title in Adelaide.
Prediction: Keys in 3

Embed from Getty Images

Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

The final is set at the 2025 Adelaide WTA 500, and what a final it is: World #7 Jessica Pegula will take on World #20 Madison Keys in an exciting all-American clash.
