The ATP Adelaide Open, part of the 250 series of events, has a fantastic mix of players who have made it to the last eight. As always, we at LWOT preview and predict all four quarterfinal clashes for you, including No. 1 seed Tommy Paul vs Rinky Hijikata. But who will advance?

ATP Adelaide Quarterfinals Predictions

Benjamin Bonzi vs Miomir Kecmanovic

Head-to-Head: First Meeting

Benjamin Bonzi has done well to come through qualifying and shown decent tennis to reach the last eight. He faces Miomir Kecmanovic, who also has had a pretty good week already, defeating the sixth seed in his first round. These two face off for the first time, and it should boil down to how well Bonzi can counter Kecmanovic’s consistency from the baseline. Based on what we’ve seen so far, the Serb looks in good touch to progress further.

Prediction: Kecmanovic in 3

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Marcos Giron

Head-to-Head: Auger-Aliassime 4-1 Giron

After a not so good 2024 season, Felix Auger-Aliassime will be looking to correct the course in 2025. The Canadian does enjoy playing on the hard courts and he will be pleased with the start he’s made. He takes on Marcos Giron who is pretty consistent but doesn’t seem to have the firepower to trouble Auger-Aliassime from the baseline. Expect Felix to progress to the semifinals full of confidence here.

Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 2

Embed from Getty Images

Thanasi Kokkinakis vs Sebastian Korda

Head-to-Head: Kokkinakis 0-3 Korda

Thanasi Kokkinakis overcame a tough challenge late in the night to reach the last eight which brings into question how much rest will the Australian manage to get. His quarterfinal opponent on the other will be well rested after having made short work of his opponent and has beaten Kokkinakis on all three previous occasions when they’ve met. Expect Sebastian Korda to dominate a fatigued Kokkinakis.

Prediction: Korda in 2

Tommy Paul vs Rinky Hijikata

Head-to-Head: First Meeting

Rinky Hijikata has ridden the home crowd support to notch up a couple of fantastic wins but the 23 year old now faces his toughest test when he faces Tommy Paul who is the top seed here. The American did need three sets to get the win but he is a quality player who plays extremely well on the hard courts. Expect Hijikata to make a fast start but Paul should be able to outmaneuver his opponent in the end.

Prediction: Paul in 3

Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey – USA TODAY Sports

The build-up to the Australian Open 2025 has well and truly begun.
