While the Serb won&#8217;t be in action yet, there&#8217;s plenty of great matches to look forward to today.<\/p>\n<h2>ATP Brisbane Day 2 Predictions<\/h2>\n<h4>Federico Agustin Gomez vs Reilly Opelka<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Head-to-head:<\/strong> first meeting<\/p>\n<p>Opelka has been struggling for a long time and will be looking to get back to his best in 2025. He could hardly have asked for a better first match of the season than facing the World #137. While Gomez played well in qualifying, dealing with Opelka&#8217;s serve is a completely different challenge and despite his recent struggles the American should have the edge here.<br \/>\n<strong>Prediction:<\/strong> Opelka in 2<\/p>\n<h4>Alex Michelsen vs Christopher O&#8217;Connell<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Head-to-head:<\/strong> Michelsen 1-0 O&#8217;Connell<\/p>\n<p>Michelsen has been rising steadily for a while and should get his ranking up to Slam seeding range very soon. While O&#8217;Connell is a solid player, Michelsen beat him with relative ease a few months ago in Tokyo and the gap between them should only increase going forward. He hasn&#8217;t really managed to find his footing on faster surfaces yet, while Jarry is more of an all-surface threat, even if his results haven&#8217;t been great since his run to the final at the Rome Masters 1000. On paper, Jarry should be able to advance comfortably here.<br \/>\n<strong>Prediction:<\/strong> Jarry in 2<\/p>\n<h4>Jordan Thompson vs Matteo Berrettini<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Head-to-head:<\/strong> Berrettini 2-0 Thompson<\/p>\n<p>This is arguably the tighest and most interesting match of the day on paper; at his best, Berrettini was clearly the superior player, but while he showed some signs here and there that he is still capable of returning to that level, it&#8217;s Thompson, playing the best tennis of his career at 30, who is actually the higher ranked player of the two at the moment and is playing at home here.
