Main draw action in Bercy will begin on October 28. World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will lead the 56-man draw. Seven-time champion Novak Djokovic is the high-profile name missing from this year’s entry list. The Serbian’s absence from the event is now official.

The most interesting news in the build-up to such a prestigious tournament is the list of wild card recipients. The tournament has finalized the four-man list, which, unsurprisingly, is dominated by French players.

Four Players Receive Paris Masters Wild Cards

The first wild card recipient is Gael Monfils. The athletic and agile 38-year-old will make his 12th appearance at the Paris Masters. Monfils is a two-time runner-up at the event and owns victories over former champions Roger Federer and Andy Murray. Last year, he was knocked out in the first-round stage.

Richard Gasquet is the next veteran on this list. This will be his last appearance in Bercy. He announced just a few weeks ago that he will retire from professional tennis at next year’s Roland Garros. He is a former semifinalist of the Paris Masters and twice a quarterfinalist.

Adrian Mannarino is the other experienced man granted a wild card. His selection is perhaps the most surprising. He doesn’t have a great track record at this tournament. The 36-year-old has won just eight times in 13 visits. He has lost the first round in each of his last two appearances at the Paris Masters.

Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard is the final name on the list. He is set for his main draw debut. The 20-year-old is still chasing his first Masters 1000 match win after losing in Cincinnati and Shanghai. Mpetshi Perricard can cement a Top 50 year-end ranking if he finishes the season with a flourish.

Embed from Getty Images

Two More Players Enter With Protected Ranking

In addition to the four wild cards, two players will cash in on their protected ranking status to play in the main draw. These are Marin Cilic and Pablo Carreno Busta, who have both recovered from long-term injuries to return to action this season.

Former US Open champion Cilic had been in good form since his return, winning his 21st career title in Hangzhou Open. However, he has lost his last three matches in a row.

Carreno Busta will also look to snap a three-match losing streak in Bercy. The Spaniard has previously triumphed at a Masters 1000 tournament. He won the Montreal Masters two years ago.

Main Photo Credit: Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

The 2024 Rolex Paris Masters is the final Maters 1000 tournament of the ATP season.
