With most top seeds bowing out early, it presented a great opportunity for someone to make a deep run and Olivia Gadecki has grabbed it with both hands. She has already defeated Danielle Collins but can she go one step further and beat Magdalena Frech in a final? As always, LWOT offers predictions for the final. But which player will get their maiden WTA title?

WTA Guadalajara Final Prediction

Magdalena Frech vs Olivia Gadecki

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Magdalena Frech was down a break in both sets against Caroline Garcia in the semifinals but showed immense grit to turn it around and reach her second WTA final. She’s had slow starts but always found a way to battle back the whole week. Frech did well to force errors out of Garcia which is the key against the Frenchwoman. With this win, Frech guarantees a new career high ranking and a top 40 debut. This will be Frech’s second tour-level final and first on hard courts.

Olivia Gadecki is probably having the most unexpected run of the year on the WTA Tour. She was ranked outside the top 150 at the start of the week, but will now be inside the top 100 on Monday. She will also be the highest-ranked Australian woman (only in the top 100). This run can give her some great opportunities going forward. Should be a main draw entry for the 2025 Australian Open as well.

Embed from Getty Images

Gadecki has had a fantastic run and is still only 22, so there is plenty of possibility for improvement. She has gotten off to a good start in all her matches this week, which contrasts with Frech. It is a golden opportunity for both players to get their first WTA Tour title. Gadecki has defeated some top players already this week so she won’t be nervous but Frech will be her toughest opponent. However, I am backing the Australian to complete her dream run.
Prediction: Gadecki in 3

[tgdcta items=”1″ id=”170466″]

Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

The final is set at the Guadalajara Open Akron and two unexpected names make the last two.
