Cobolli reached the third round of the US Open, when he lost against Medvedev in straight sets as we predicted.<\/a> Flavio had some solid results this season, and has been consistent on every surface throughout the whole season. Monteiro spent most of his season playing on the clay courts. He had some solid results at the challenger tour level, which cemented his top 100 spot. Monteiro never had any success on the indoor courts.<\/p>\n

We believe that Cobolli is a way better indoor hard court player than Monteiro. Cobolli should be able to dominate from the very start, and win this matchup easily.<\/p>\n

That being said, we believe that Cobolli will win the first match for Italy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2nd potential matchup:<\/h3>\n

Matteo Arnaldi – Joao Fonseca<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matteo and Joao are the second best ranked players for Italy and Brazil. Arnaldi reached the third round of the US Open, where he lost against Thompson in straight sets.<\/a> Just shortly before the US Open, Arnaldi reached the semifinals in Montreal, losing against Rublev in straight sets. Matteo loves to play on every surface, which he showed this season already. Fonseca is a young Brazilian talent who loves to play on the clay courts. He failed to qualify at the US Open this year. So far this season, Fonseca has had his biggest results on clay. However, he also won a challenger title on the hard court in Lexington one month ago.<\/a><\/p>\n

Arnaldi is a way more experienced player than Fonseca. He is also a better hard-court player at this moment, so we believe that he will win this match easily.<\/p>\n

That being said, we believe that Arnaldi will get the second win for Italy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3rd potential matchup:<\/h3>\n

Vavassori\/Bolelli – Melo\/Matos<\/strong><\/p>\n

We expect Italy and Brazil to play their doubles matches like this. Vavassori and Bolelli have been playing together for a longer time. They had some great results this season, such as reaching the final at the French Open. Vavassori won the mixed title with his partner, Sara Errani, last week at the US Open.<\/a> Melo and Matos have been playing together for the last couple of months. They had already won one title together, which was in Stuttgart on grass.<\/p>\n

We believe that Vavassori and Bolelli have better chemistry together. They have been playing together for a long time now, so we believe that they will win this match in three tight sets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Best Bet to Make<\/h2>\n

Italy has way better players in the singles competition. We believe that they will dominate in their first two matches. The doubles match could go either way, but we still think that Vavassori and Bolelli will get the job done, and win their doubles match.<\/p>\n

That being said, Italy winning 3-0 is a value bet.<\/strong><\/p>\n
