Former champion Matteo Berrettini will aim to reach his third final at the tournament when he faces top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas. France’s Quentin Halys is the sole qualifier still standing and will play in-form German Jan-Lennard Struff. Who will advance to Sunday’s final?

ATP Gstaad Semifinal Predictions

Jan-Lennard Struff vs Quentin Halys

Head-to-head: Struff 1-0 Halys

Every competitor in Gstaad is playing to their strengths. The tournament’s profile as a fast-playing clay court has considerably helped the likes of Jan-Lennard Struff and Quentin Halys. The Frenchman, in particular, is showing admirable resilience after a subpar start to the season. He’s won five matches in the last seven days (from qualifying) and produced the shot-of-the-year contender in his quarterfinal win. Struff, for his part, is coming off a terrific three-set win over Etcheverry. It’s no mean feat to beat the Argentinian on this surface. This will be a matchup where the odds should be much closer, with Halys finally getting over the hump of his previous semifinal loss (lost to Ruud in Estoril last year).
Prediction: Halys in 3

[tgdcta items=”1″ id=”170468″]

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Matteo Berrettini

Head-to-head: Tsitsipas 4-0 Berrettini

Stefanos Tsitsipas only needed a 66-minute workout to beat 2017 champion Fabio Fognini in straight sets. He is two wins away from adding a second title to his 2024 collection (won in Monte Carlo in mid-April). Matteo Berrettini, meanwhile, won the clash of heavyweights to reach his third semifinal in Gstaad. He served his way past Felix Auger-Aliassime in two tie-breaks. Neither player dropped their serve during the match, but the Italian has been decisive in winning the big points this week. Although Tsitsipas’ consistency on this surface makes him the slight favorite, Berrettini is 2-0 in previous semifinal appearances at this tournament. And he’s not flinching in his service games. I’ll back the upset here.
Prediction: Berrettini in 3

Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

The semifinal schedule at the ATP 250 in Gstaad promises two high-quality matches on paper.
