As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the slate, including Carlos Alcaraz vs Roberto Carballes Baena and Alexander Zverev vs Felix Auger-Aliassime. But who will come out on top?

ATP Miami Day 4 Predictions

Holger Rune vs Fabian Marozsan

Head-to-head: first meeting

Holger Rune played well in Indian Wells, reaching beating Lorenzo Musetti and Taylor Fritz to reach the quarterfinals, before losing out to fourth seed Daniil Medvedev in the last eight. But if he can recapture that form in Miami, he should have the beating of Fabian Marozsan. The Hungarian’s inventive style may cause Rune some problems, with his drop shots likely to be rewarded on the slow courts in Miami, but in the end the Dane’s power off the ground should prove to be the difference.

Prediction: Rune in 3

Ben Shelton vs Martin Landaluce

Head-to-head: first meeting

Martin Landaluce has had quite the week, beating his compatriot Jaume Munar in three hard-fought sets. But Ben Shelton will doubtless prove to be a tougher opponent. The American will not only have the backing of the crowd, he also has the power to hit through most players. It will be a good learning experience for Landaluce, who clearly has a bright future, but expect this to be a challenge too far for the young Spaniard,

Prediction: Shelton in 2

[tgdcta items=”1″ id=”170476″]

Hubert Hurkacz vs Alexander Shevchenko

Head-to-head: Hurkacz 2-0 Shevchenko

Hubert Hurkacz has a fine record at the ATP Miami Open, winning the title in 2021 by beating Jannik Sinner in straight-sets. The Italian has gone onto achieve rather more than his vanquisher since that match, but it is a testament to Hurkacz’s ability in favourable conditions all the same. Whilst he would probably struggle to beat Sinner against, he should be able to get past Alexander Shevchenko, who he has beaten in their two previous meetings, including earlier this year in straight sets in Marseille.

Prediction: Hurkacz in 2

Jan-Lennard Struff vs Daniel Altmaier

Head-to-head: Altmaier 1-0 Struff

If nothing else, this should be a good contest aesthetically. Daniel Altmaier has one of the more stylish games on the tour, whilst Jan-Lennard Struff’s aggressive style of play is always good to watch. Altmaier won their only previous match, but that was played four years ago on a clay court. On a hard court, Struff’s serve and forehand should help him hit through Altmaier.

Prediction: Struff in 2

Main photo credit: Andy Abeyta/The Desert Sun / USA TODAY NETWORK

It should be another entertaining day at the ATP Miami Open with 12 matches on the slate in the Sunshine State.
