By that I mean being very critical and difficult to please, although I do lack the fame, fortune ,and recognition. However, it is only fitting that I am the one who writes a post of why each of the players left in the Australian Open Women’s Singles won’t win!

Obviously someone will win the tournament, but we are constantly discussing why players will win events so I believe it is refreshing to argue against the players. Below is a tweet on each of the 12 players (since some players have yet to play their 4th Round matches) in the Women’s singles using the #WhyTheyWontWin hashtag. I’d love for you to all get involved on Twitter using this hashtag to express your opinions or throw shade on the players! Anyway, here is why I think each player may be left-empty handed. The player who eventually comes away with the trophy could very well be the one who does the most to overcome these reasons.

Top Half – 4th Round Matches

(1) Simona Halep vs. Naomi Osaka

https://twitter.com/VitIllankovan/status/955017718465523712

(20) Barbora Strýcová vs (6) Karolína Plíšková

https://twitter.com/VitIllankovan/status/955022061990285318

Hsieh Su-wei vs. (21) Angelique Kerber

https://twitter.com/VitIllankovan/status/955025147118878722

(17) Madison Keys vs. (8) Caroline Garcia

https://twitter.com/VitIllankovan/status/955030963880452096

Bottom Half – Quarterfinal Matches

Elise Mertens vs. (4) Elina Svitolina

https://twitter.com/VitIllankovan/status/955097683462672384

Carla Suárez Navarro vs. (2) Caroline Wozniacki

https://twitter.com/VitIllankovan/status/955103208845774848

So there are my reasons for why each player left in the Women’s Singles will not be victorious at the Australian Open. As expressed at the beginning, I hope you do get involved in this discussion on Twitter. As someone will have to win, I believe it will be the one who is the best able to overcome the potential reasons that they won’t win.
