We’ve already predicted some of them, as we expected to see them on Day 4 (including Wimbledon Day 4 Women’s Predictions Including Aryna Sabalenka vs Varvara Gracheva and Ons Jabeur vs Zhuoxuan Bai). Who do you think will advance?

Wimbledon Day 5 Women’s Predictions

Anhelina Kalinina vs Bianca Andreescu

Jim:
Bianca Andreesuc has all the tools to succeed on the grass, but she hasn’t had many opportunities to play on it with injuries having played an outsized role in her career so far. But she seems to be healthy at Wimbledon this year and a healthy Andreescu is a dangerous opponent.
Prediction: Andreescu in 3

Shane:
Anhelina Kalinina and Bianca Andreescu will square off for the first time. Andreescu has been the better career grass-court player, but Kalinina looked much more comfortable in her respective Round 1 victory. This should be a tight match, but I favor Andreescu’s ability to push her opponent around the court.
Prediction: Andreescu in 3

Yesh:
Andreescu’s health is always the question. Her game is just so different when she’s feeling good. If she’s healthy, she wins–that’s a true statement basically no matter who she faces. That health hasn’t lasted, at all, since her 2019 US Open title run. We’ll see if it continues here.
Prediction: Andreescu in 2

[cta id=4014 type=cta]

Jessica Pegula vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto

Jim:
Jessica Pegula had to hang tough to get past Lauren Davis in the first round, but hit her straps in the second, dismissing Cristina Bucsa for the loss of only five games. Elisabetta Cocciaretto has a better grass-court game than the Spaniard, but she’s probably not good enough to win this match.
Prediction: Pegula in 2

Shane:
No. 4 seed Jessica Pegula has a chance to reach Round 4 at Wimbledon for the first time. Standing in her way is 22-year-old Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto. The young Italian has minimal grass experience. She has looked solid this week but does not have the level to hang with a player like Pegula.
Prediction: Pegula in 2

Yesh:
Pegula was so impressive in the second round. Her timing and rhythm were impeccable. If she keeps playing like that, almost no one in the world can beat her. Certainly not Cocciaretto.
Prediction: Pegula in 2

Embed from Getty Images

Petra Kvitova vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich

Jim:
Petra Kvitova can never be counted out at Wimbledon. She is a two-time champion at the All England Club after all. She was tested at times in the first round by Jasmine Paolini and should expect another test here against Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Ultimately though, the gap in talent should be too big for Sasnovich to bridge.
Prediction: Kvitova in 3

Shane:
Two-time Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitova is a real threat to raise the trophy again. This year, the No. 9 seed is 6-0 on the grass and has the tools to push around any opponent. Aliaksandra Sasnovich looked solid in her Round 1 victory and beat Kvitova at Wimbledon in 2018. That said, I expect Kvitova to come out with her A-game.
Prediction: Kvitova in 3

Yesh:
Kvitova looks good enough to win it all this year.
