This tournament is a real opportunity for both to pick up some valuable points in what is a wide open draw outside the top two or three seeds. How her body is holding up is an obvious concern coming into this match as result. Danka Kovinic is a solid player who will be a tough test for the Frenchwoman here. However, if Dodin is healthy and firing on all cylinders she is a quality player and should have to much power off the ground for Kovinic to keep up. The German cruised through qualifying in straight sets to\u00a0 book her place in the main draw here. However, she now faces a tough first round test in <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2022\/07\/26\/jasmine-paolini-warsaw\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Jasmine Paolini<\/a>. The Italian hasn&#8217;t been at her best in 2022 but is steal a real threat on clay. Her record on red dirt has been poor this year so she&#8217;s due a good run. Fortunately for her though, most of her struggles this year have come on hard courts. She is 10-5 on clay and will be hoping to pick up some more wins on the red dirt in the coming weeks. However, she might struggle to win here against Trevisan who has been arguably the best clay courter not named <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2022\/09\/10\/iga-swiatek-beats-ons-jabeur-us-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Iga Swiatek<\/a> in 2022. The Italian is 15-6 on the surface this year after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/tennis\/story\/_\/id\/33959146\/italy-martina-trevisan-wins-first-wta-title-rabat\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">winning a title in Rabat<\/a> and then following it up with a semifinal run at the French Open. The Italian&#8217;s form has dipped since then, but I still see her as the favourite here given her prowess on clay.
