Whom do you think will advance to the semis?

ATP San Diego Quarterfinal Predictions

Dan Evans vs Constant Lestienne

Head-to-head: Evans 1-0 Lestienne
Constant Lestienne, after a tough first round match, made short work of Alejandro Tabilo in his second round match, which lasted just over an hour. The Frenchman plays an attacking game which is proving to be effective on the San Diego hard courts. Evans, the first seed here, cruised past Taro Daniel in his second round match. Evans, though good enough to win the match, didn’t do especially well on the serve. His quarterfinal opponent is currently playing well on hard courts and this match might be interesting.
Prediction: Evans in 3

Embed from Getty Images

Marcos Giron vs James Duckworth

Head-to-head: First meeting

James Duckworth comes into the match having spent almost four hours on court in his two matches. He has been serving really well, and is also aggressive through the forehand wing. Duckworth has not given any impressive results recently besides making a challenger final, and he will be hungry for something big here. Marcos Giron, the third seed had a comfortable win over Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the second round. His forehand with the huge backswing stands out. However, that may have its downsides, which might be exposed against a heavy-baller such as Duckworth.
Prediction: Duckworth in 3

Embed from Getty Images

Christopher O’Connell vs Jenson Brooksby

Head-to-head: First meeting

Jenson Brooksby had a tough match-up in Mackenzie McDonald for his second round encounter, which he handled efficiently. Brooksby relies on percentage tennis to win him matches, and that works pretty well. The second seed at this event, Brooksby is the favorite for the title. Christopher O’Connell defeated the dangerous-looking J.J. Wolf in his second round match. He kept the errors to low, and didn’t face a single break point throughout the match. On the other side of the net, Daniel Elahi Galan played a three hour long second round match against Pedro Martinez. The pair met just two months ago in the third round at Wimbledon.
