That\u2019s probably where his New York dream ends though, Corentin Moutet is just a far superior hard-court player and already beat him in Lyon this year (on clay). Moutet in 4<\/p>\n<p>Jack: I\u2019ve said it was once, I\u2019ll say it again &#8211; never underestimate form! Pedro Cachin survived a second-consecutive fifth-set-tiebreak to defeat Brandon Holt and, though his legs will be aching, will feel like he\u2019s playing with house money. Corentin Moutet will be willing to scrap as hard as he can for this one but <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2022\/09\/02\/pedro-cachin-the-year-of-dreams\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Cachin just doesn\u2019t know how to lose<\/a> right now. Casper Ruud hasn\u2019t been perfect so far, but he\u2019s improved enough on hard courts that it will take a special performance to stop him. <strong>Ruud in 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jack: Casper Ruud has looked vulnerable sporadically but I\u2019m not sure Tommy Paul is the man to take advantage if Ruud\u2019s having an underpar day, especially after being pushed to five in his previous two matches. Both guys are criminally underrated but very capable of deep Slam runs. They\u2019ve gone far at the US Open before and this should be a cracker. Alex de Minaur\u2019s improved serve and a bit more attacking potential could give him a slight edge, but it\u2019s basically a coin toss. <strong>de Minaur in 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jack: This is a difficult match to call. Based on the tournament so far however, Alex De Minaur has looked the slightly sharper of the two players though Pablo Carreno Busta has arguably had the tougher set of opponents.
