With six singles matches scheduled, we have two articles outlining our thoughts on each match. We look at the day’s other three matches in another article. Who will win through to the next round?

WTA Strasbourg Day 3 Predictions

Kaja Juvan vs Nefisa Berberovic

Previous Meetings: First meeting

I was expecting big things from Juvan this season and they haven’t quite materialized. Still, I think that the young Slovenian will have her eyes fixed on her first WTA title here and should win this match against lucky loser Berberovic with a degree of comfort.
Prediction: Juvan in 2.

Embed from Getty Images

Oceane Dodin vs Ekaterina Makarova

First meeting

On the face of it, the Frenchwoman is deserving favorite here. However, Dodin has been a very shaky favorite in the recent past and Makarova is on good form, as evidenced by her victory over Sorana Cirstea in the opening round. I am going to predict a slight upset here by backing the Russian to come through in a tight match.
Prediction: Makarova in 3

Angelique Kerber vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich

Previous Meetings: 1-0 Kerber

These two met at Wimbledon last year and the Belarussian took the opening set easily but then capitulated. However, on this occasion Sasnovich is the player in better form and has won three matches at the venue now having had to qualify into the main draw. I favor Sasnovich to progress here because of her energy and baseline shot production and push Kerber that half-a-step further into retirement.
Prediction: Sasnovich in 2

Main Photo from Getty.

Day 3 at WTA Strasbourg sees second round action on the main courts, including Angelique Kerber vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

[69
888,15723,24,15569,414,16775,6217,15957,17646,17647,247,15691,2373,2369,6014
post-49455","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-predictions","tag-aliaksandra-sasnovich","tag-aliaksandra-sasnovich-predictions","tag-angelique-kerber","tag-angelique-kerber-predictions","tag-ekaterina-makarova","tag-ekaterina-makarova-predictions","tag-kaja-juvan","tag-kaja-juvan-predictions","tag-nefisa-berberovic","tag-nefisa-berberovic-predictions","tag-oceane-dodin","tag-oceane-dodin-predictions","tag-tennis-picks","tag-tennis-predictions","tag-wta-strasbourg-predictions
["GET
