The remainder of the third-round matchups will be completed on Tuesday at the WTA Madrid Open. The draw has opened up with the majority of the big names making early round exits from the tournament. It will be interesting to see who steps up and makes the most of this opportunity. Read on for our day six best bets.<\/p>\n
Sara Sorribes Tormo claimed a big victory in the second round where she defeated Naomi Osaka 6-3 6-1. It\u2019s turning into a good week for the Spaniard who also eliminated the 13th seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the first round with a 6-3 2-6 6-3 win. A different challenge awaits Sorribes Tormo in the third round where she faces Daria Kasatkina. The previous matchups for Sorribes Tormo revolved around a lot of defending against heavy hitters, whilst Kasatkina\u2019s style is somewhat similar to the Spaniard\u2019s. It\u2019s hard to beat Sorribes Tormo at her own game, especially when she\u2019s in form like she is this week. Kasatkina is rated the slight favourite, but I\u2019d reserve that and have Sorribes Tormo the slight favourite based on her level this week.<\/p>\n
Jil Teichmann seems to be underrated for a third consecutive match in Madrid. Teichmann progressed through the first few rounds with straight set wins over Petra Kvitova 6-3 7-5 and Leylah Fernandez 6-4 6-4. Teichmann has always been a tricky customer on clay and tends to catch fire at certain events with deep runs. It looks like one of those tournaments for Teichmann where she\u2019s going to be tough to beat. I reckon Teichmann has a better chance in this matchup than the odds suggest. Rybakina hasn\u2019t really been tested this week and I\u2019m still unsure about her ability on this surface. Teichmann will give Rybakina a stern examination.<\/p>\n
The bookmakers are struggling to split Jessica Pegula and Bianca Andreescu in what looks like an interesting third round matchup in Madrid. Personally, I\u2019d argue that Andreescu should be the favourite here, I see value with the Canadian. Andreescu produced her best performance since her comeback in the previous round where she easily defeated the 6th seeded Danielle Collins 6-1 6-1. A similar level will give her a great chance against Pegula. The American is solid but doesn\u2019t really do anything better than Andreescu does. Andreescu is capable of playing the better tennis and has more versatility and class to her game.<\/p>\n
Emma Raducanu swept aside a pair of hapless opponents to start the tournament and looks overrated heading into her third round clash with the underrated Anhelina Kalinina. Raducanu was never challenged by Marta Kostyuk in the second round but will definitely face a tougher test against an in-form Kalinina. The Ukrainian made Garbine Muguruza look terrible during a 6-3 6-0 win over the 7th seeded Spaniard. Kalinina has a good record in the clay, she\u2019s achieved much on the red clay than Raducanu has. I\u2019d have the odds closer to even here, looks to be some value with Kalinina.<\/p>\n
