Who do you think is going to the semifinals?

ATP Pune Quarterfinals Predictions

Stefano Travaglia vs Elias Ymer

H2H: Ymer 1-0 Travaglia

Both players had very impressive showings in their last matches, with Travaglia allowing Yuki Bhambri only five games in a quick victory, while Ymer took out the top seed Aslan Karatsev in the second round to improve his record to 6-1 in 2022. For the Swede, it is his second main tour quarterfinal, reaching the first one more than five years ago at Gstaad 2016. The 25-year-old leads the head-to-head over Travaglia, beating him in straight sets at a Challenger in 2019. If Ymer can bring his A-game again, he should beat out Travaglia.
Prediction: Ymer in 2

Embed from Getty Images

Kamil Majchrzak vs Lorenzo Musetti

H2H: first meeting

Majchrzak followed up his first-round win over qualifier Jay Clarke with another straight-set win over Quentin Halys in the second round. Musetti got his first win of 2022 in the second round after his first-round bye. The young Italian defeated Aleksandar Vukic in an entertaining three-set battle. A similar match can be expected here, though I expect the Pole to come out on top.
Prediction: Majchrzak in 3

Embed from Getty Images

Joao Sousa vs Daniel Altmaier

H2H: first meeting

The former No. 28 is in his first Tour-level quarterfinal since September 2019, though the road has certainly been rocky. The 32-year-old had to come back from a set down in both of his matches, first against wildcard Arjun Kadhe and then pushed all the way to a third-set tiebreak by third seed Gianluca Mager. Altmaier did not come into Pune in good form but has mended it over the past two rounds. The German first eliminated wildcard Prajnesh Gunneswaran in straight sets before coming back from a set down against Radu Albot. Sousa has pushed his way to the quarterfinals but I think the long previous matches will catch up with him now and Altmaier will be too much for him at this point in his career.
Prediction: Altmaier in 2

Embed from Getty Images

Emil Ruusuvuori vs Jiri Vesely

H2H: Ruusuvuori 1-0 Vesely

We have an exciting meeting of two of the biggest favorites for the title here. Vesely, the defending champion, looked good in his opening match with a straightforward win over Bernabe Zapata Miralles. Ruusuvuori has looked great in his first two wins over Egor Gerasimov and Vit Kopriva. The 22-year-old has won their previous meeting last January in Antalya in straight sets and I believe he will win again. This match promises a lot of firepower from both players and if both of them are at their best, we could be looking at the best match of the tournament.
Prediction: Ruusuvuori in 3

Main Photo from Getty.

The quarterfinal line-up is set at the ATP Tata Open Maharashtra in Pune.
