An exciting matchup between two players on the rise, who will come out on top?

WTA Tenerife Final Prediction

Camila Osorio vs Ann LI

H2H: First meeting

Ann Li has won eight consecutive sets since she dropped her opening set of the tournament to Nuria Parrizas-Diaz. A 2-6 6-4 6-1 win over the Spaniard was followed by progressively commanding performances. The American defeated Varvara Gracheva 6-4 6-2, Irina-Camelia Begu 7-5 7-5 before securing a spot in the final with her best performance of the week so far when she cruised past Alize Cornet 6-2 6-1.

Camila Osorio has also won eight consecutive sets this week after dropping her first set of the tournament. The Colombian started the event with a huge upset win over the top seeded Elina Svitolina, a 5-7 6-3 6-2 victory from a set and a break down. Osorio then defeated Mayar Sherif 6-4 6-2 and Saisai Zheng 7-5 6-1. A 6-4 7-5 semifinal win over the fourth seeded Camila Giorgi was another notable upset victory for Osorio.

Embed from Getty Images

This looks like an evenly poised matchup; the result may well depend on who is able to handle the occasion better. Both are inexperienced in these situations so it will be interesting to see who is able to deal with the nerves better. Osorio is a feisty competitor and has beaten tougher opponents this week. Li is a steady character with a solid game. I’ll side with Li, is suspect she is more likely to come out on top in this matchup, her game is more stable and better suited to the hard courts.
Prediction: Li in 3

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

An unpredictable week will fittingly end with a pair of unexpected finalists battling it out for the title at the inaugural WTA Tenerife Ladies Open as Camila Osorio takes on Ann Li.
