Rinderknech iss highlighted by a semifinal in Kitzbuhel and Giron’s a quarterfinal in Winston-Salem. With just five spots separating them in the rankings there’s no wonder this one is a hard one to call. Just purely based off the Frenchman got a few good indoor wins last week in a challenger opposed to Giron playing his first indoor match for over six months, I’m leaning toward the Frenchman.
Prediction: Rinderknech in 3

Embed from Getty Images

Mikael Ymer vs Jan-Lennard Struff

Head-to-head: Ymer 1-0

At one point this year it looked like Struff was playing great tennis, serving huge with out of this world net play. Come September and he’s won just three of his last 13 matches on tour. Ymer, on the other hand, despite coming off a first round loss at the US Open made the Winston-Salem final just before that so there’s no reason he shouldn’t be ready and raring to go. Indoors this no doubt suits Struff with the far bigger serve and groundstrokes and really the whole match depends on his level. I do expect the German to turn around his recent fortunes on the European indoor hard courts.
Prediction: Struff in 2

Embed from Getty Images

Philipp Kohlschreiber vs Marco Cecchinato

Head-to-head: 1-1 (Including Challenger)

At times you wonder why Marco Cecchinato even bothers showing up off clay. It’s almost always a guaranteed win for his opponents.
