There should be plenty of entertaining tennis on day three at the Tokyo Olympics. All 16 second-round matches are on the slate and, as ever, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every scheduled match, including Viktorija Golubic vs Naomi Osaka<\/a>, Leylah Fernandez vs Barbora Krejcikova<\/a> and Aryna Sabalenka vs Donna Vekic<\/a>. But who will advance?<\/p>\n

Tokyo Olympics Day 3 Predictions<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Wang Qiang vs Garbine Muguruza<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Jim: This has the makings of an entertaining match. But Garbine Muguruza will be the favourite coming into it. She negotiated a tough first-round draw adroitly, beating Veronika Kudermetova 7-5 7-5 and the conditions in Tokyo appear to suit her hard-hitting style. She will probably be pushed again here, but she should have the beating of Wang Qiang.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Muguruza in 3<\/em><\/p>\n

Steen: Wang leads the h2h 2-0, Muguruza has had a subpar season by her lofty standards and needs to be on upset watch here. The surface favours Muguruza though despite Wang’s good form.<\/p>\n

Yesh: Muguruza has been in pretty good form all year, though she throws in tight matches too often. That means you can’t be too confident picking her, but there’s no reason to pick against her either.<\/p>\n
