Cristian has had an up-and-down season, sometimes performing well, sometimes not. The 20-year-old Serbian reached the quarterfinals on clay in Hungary last week and so has been playing the clutch moments pretty well here in Palermo. But her magical run here in her home country could come to an end today as Ruse, the champion last week in Hamburg, is loving the red clay at the moment. Furthermore, Ruse has had an extra day of rest as her second round opponent, Jil Teichmann, withdrew due to an injury.
