We predict three of the matches in this article and the other four in <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2021\/07\/12\/atp-newport-day-2-predictions-karlovic-zapata-miralles\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">a separate article<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>ATP Newport Day 1 Predictions<\/h2>\n<h4>Peter Gojowczyk vs Mitchell Krueger<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Head-to-head:<\/strong> Gojowczyk 1-0 Krueger<\/p>\n<p>Both players lost their first match in the Wimbledon qualifying and haven&#8217;t really had productive seasons in general. This will in fact be Sock&#8217;s first ATP level match of the season; even at his best, grass wasn&#8217;t a good surface for him, let alone now.
