The transition to grass has proved challenging for some of the best in the women’s game. Nonetheless, elite names remain in contention as we head towards the later stages of the tournament. As ever, we take a look at how they should fair in our WTA Eastbourne quarterfinal predictions.

WTA Eastbourne Quarterfinal Predictions

Anett Kontaveit vs Viktorija Golubic

Head-to-head: 3 – 0 Kontaveit

Kontaveit has played great tennis so far in Eastbourne so far. She did well to best Andreescu in straight sets and now faces Swiss veteran Golubic. Golubic did well to best her fellow country woman in straight sets last round but doesn’t have enough I’m her arsenal to beat the in form Estonian.
Prediction: Kontaveit in 2

Embed from Getty Images

Aryna Sabalenka vs Camilla Giorgi

Head-to-head: 1 – 0 Sabalenka

This one is relatively easy to call. Sabalenka is a top five player in top five form and has a very short list of players she isn’t favored against. She is yet to prove herself on grass, but if her clay improvement is anything to go by we can expect big things from her in the coming weeks.
Prediction: Sabalenka in 2

Embed from Getty Images

Jelena Ostapenko vs Daria Kasatkina

Head-to-head: 2 – 2

A battle of two players enjoying something of a resurgence here. Kasatkina has the variety to excel on grass. However, Ostapenko is an elite ballstriker who can hit anyone off the court on any surface when on form. I’ve said before that the Latvian is due a run and I’ll stand by it here.
Prediction: Ostapenko in 2

Embed from Getty Images

Elena Rybakina vs Anastasia Sevastova

Head-to-head: First meeting

Rybakina has to be the favorite here. The young Kazakh is in blistering form in recent weeks and looks every bit the star she was last year. Her serve is among the best on tour and she has immense power off both wings. Expect her to be in the finals if she carries on at the level she is.
Prediction: Rybakina in 2

Main Photo from Getty.

Eastbourne’s last eight are set ahead of Friday’s quarterfinals.
