The Frenchman faces Dusan Lajovic who is a tricky opponent on any surface. The Serb leads the head to head 3-1 but hasn&#8217;t won a match since his first round win in the French Open. Lajovic is extremely low on confidence and he wouldn&#8217;t relish the fact that he has to face a player who prefers the indoor conditions. The Australian is coming off a confidence infusing title run in Nur-Sultan and he&#8217;s already beaten Miomir Kecmanovic before. The Serb hasn&#8217;t looked in any form since winning the title in Kitzbuhel losing in the first round in Nur-Sultan. Gilles Simon would&#8217;ve preferred for the French crowd to motivate him during the match but he&#8217;ll have to find it within him to power through. Both players reached the quarter-finals of the tournaments they played in before coming to Paris. This is also their first meeting which makes this match all the more difficult to call. Simon is not the kind of player who&#8217;ll go big on crucial points contrary to Tommy Paul.
