The 25-year-old qualified after receiving a wil dcard into the qualifying draw. He took advantage of his draw and defeated a rusty Alex de Minau,r who was playing in his first clay court match of the year. The qualifier has his work cut out for him going up against John Millman, who took care of Bernard Tomic 6-3 6-0 on Tuesday. Chardy will be his toughest opponent yet, but Davidovich Fokina might be in the midst of his breakthrough run on tour. Monfils has learned not to rush back from injury at this stage in his career, so I don&#8217;t think he&#8217;ll be playing hurt.
