There was a real possibility that Rublev and No. 2 seed Luciano Darderi were going to meet in an ATP 250 final for the second consecutive weekend, but it won’t happen. Darderi, as the No. 2 seed, is the highest seed left in the tournament and should feel he has a great opportunity ahead of him in Portugal. Standing in his way at the 2026 ATP Estoril<\/a> event is Alexander Blockx, who won a tough three-set quarterfinal to advance to the weekend. LWOS has our best bets for two matches. The Frenchman is on a roll, having previously beaten an in-form Pablo Carreno-Busta in Portugal. He is really riding the wave this week. He has played his way up to No. 72 in the live ATP world rankings. His opponent is Hugo Gaston, who took advantage of a great draw by beating lower-ranked Tiago Torres in the quarters. Torres stunned Alejandro Tabilo, giving Gaston a matchup advantage. He didn’t waste it.<\/p>\n

Burruchaga came into this tournament and his quarterfinal match in good form, having made a strong run the week before at the ATP Umag tournament. Blockx had an answer for Burruchaga in the third set and is now in the semifinals as the No. 4 seed. Blockx, who is currently in the live ATP top 40, faces No. 2 seed Luciano Darderi, who made the ATP Bastad final last week in Sweden and is now up to No. 23 in the live ATP rankings. This is the elite semifinal. The winner will be favored over the van Assche-Gaston winner in Sunday’s final. <\/span><\/p>\n
