This is the kind of moment a tour professional looks forward to. Every match matters and every tournament has value, but a tour semifinal, at ATP Umag or anywhere else, is a gateway to a possible final and a chance to win a title. The points on offer are significant and the increase in paycheck is notable as well. These moments don’t come along all the time for tour pros. They might make a final of a challenger event, but a tour-level championship is a much higher level of status and value. Casual fans might say it’s “just” a 250 and no big deal, but try telling that to the four men in the Umag semifinals. None of them are in the top 50 on tour and can all dearly use a title and the rankings boost which will come with it. LWOS has our best bets for two matches. They are ranked within 15 spots of each other on the ATP Tour (Burruchaga No. 67, Merida Aguilar No. 82), and they are both playing really good tennis. Burruchaga beat Flavio Cobolli, the top seed, earlier this week. Merida Aguilar beat another seeded player in Umag, Tomas Etcheverry. These are not household names in men’s tennis, at least not to casual fans, but this matchup is one of the highlights of the Friday card for global tennis.

Best Bet to Make

Welcome to our best bet section. Those are both high-profile results. Both players are performing well, which means taking a moneyline winner carries a lot of risk. We considered Merida Aguilar moneyline given how dominant he was in his most recent match, but Burruchaga is playing too well to give us a high level of confidence in that bet. We’re generally not that confident about the overall betting profile of this match, but if you’re stuck on the moneyline winner, the natural Plan B is the over 2.5 sets bet.

That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is the best bet you can make.

Value bet/ the best odds: over 2.5 sets at 2.24 @betsson

Damir Dzumhur – Alex Molcan: 15:00 EST

H2H: 1-2

ATP Umag semifinal Friday continues with Damir Dzumhur against Alex Molcan. Both players began the week in Croatia ranked outside the ATP top 100, but both have put together big weeks and now face a really vital semifinal. The winner will move several spots up in the rankings, which is hugely important with U.S. Open qualifying not that far away. The ability to directly qualify for 1,000-point tournaments requires a ranking higher than what these two players currently have. It’s a huge moment for both players’ 2026 ATP seasons.

Dzumhur is coming off a marathon quarterfinal. He needed three hours and 42 minutes to beat Matteo Arnaldi and advance to the ATP Umag semifinals. The match had three tiebreakers, none decided by more than three points (7-4). It was one of the wildest three-set matches of 2026 anywhere in the world. Molcan beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in three sets, but that match didn’t go nearly as long as the Dzumhur-Arnaldi slugfest.

Best Bet to Make

Parlay options: Dzumhur +4.5 games at 1.60 @betway, Molcan moneyline at 1.50 at @WilliamHill

Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 8 – bet a full unit on this match. This is one worth wagering more money on.

Molcan is 22-6 on clay this year, having just beaten second-seeded Davidovich Fokina. Dzumhur is 12-14 on clay this year, not being very consistent, and he is coming off the three-hour, 42-minute quarterfinal marathon against Arnaldi. It’s a great spot for Molcan and not for Dzumhur. Molcan is an in-form player who will be more rested than his opponent. If Molcan wins the first set, he will probably win the second. It will be hard for Dzumhur to rally from behind. If Dzumhur wins any set in this match, it will probably be the first one before Molcan eventually overtakes him due to Dzumhur’s fatigue. If Dzumhur played a standard-length match (two to two and a half hours for three sets) in the quarterfinals, we wouldn’t be pushing this, but playing nearly four hours and having to come right back the next day offers an opening to bet boldly on Molcan.

That being said, betting on Molcan winning 2:0 is the best bet you can make.

Value bet/ the best odds: Molcan winning 2:0 @2.15 @10bet

Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

The 2026 ATP Umag post-Wimbledon clay tennis tournament has reached the semifinal round on Friday.
