You can look at the eight quarterfinalists in the draw and see that most of them are solid clay tennis players. That’s what this week is about on the tour. These ATP 250 events, very much including Bastad, are clay tournaments played right after Wimbledon. Players who went deep at Wimbledon aren’t active on tour right now. They will rest up for North American hardcourts in August. This week on the calendar is for the players who didn’t overextend themselves on grass and have a full tank of fuel for these late-July tournaments. LWOS has our best bets for three matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.

ATP Bastad

Nuno Borges – Luciano Darderi: 6:30 EST

H2H: 3-0

The ATP Bastad Friday card features this quarterfinal collision between Nuno Borges and Luciano Darderi. Borges easily defeated Grigor Dimitrov earlier in the week to get here. Darderi turned in a strong performance to beat Daniel Altmaier in straight sets. These are both top-five seeds at the Bastad tournament (Borges No. 5, Darderi No. 2), making it a showcase match on this day of quarterfinals in Sweden. Darderi is 21-10 in 31 clay tennis matches in 2026, which should get every tennis bettor’s attention. However, what will also get bettors’ attention is that Borges is 3-0 versus Darderi. Those are the two main pieces of data that need to be weighed here.

Best Bet to Make

Welcome to our best bet section. You’re going to get a collection of bets to consider, also a confidence level which should guide how much you should invest in this match.

Parlay options: Darderi moneyline at 1.78 at @unibet, Borges plus 1.5 sets at 1.44 at @betway

Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 3 – bet no more than half a unit on this match if you are going to bet on it.

Darderi’s clay record makes it really hard to bet on the Borges moneyline, in spite of the head-to-head record between the two players. That’s why we aren’t assigning a high confidence level to our bet here. Two strong data points conflict with each other, making this a difficult match to sort out. There isn’t an easy or obvious angle to be found. That’s why it’s generally not advisable to bet on matches with really convincing details on both sides.

If you absolutely have to bet (beyond the parlay pieces we laid out above), Borges against the game spread makes sense because he knows how to beat Darderi but could cash a ticket even if he loses a close match. You could also consider the over 2.5 sets bet, but Borges plus a few games would probably be the best angle on a match which is not easy to handicap.

That being said, betting on Borges +2.5 games is the best bet you can make.

Value bet/ the best odds: Borges +2.5 games at 1.80 @bet365

Andrey Rublev – Sebastian Baez: 8:00 EST

H2H: 0-0

ATP Bastad continues on Friday with a quarterfinal involving two more seeded players. Top seed Andrey Rublev faces No. 8 seed Sebastian Baez. Both players are capable on clay. Baez is 16-12 on clay this year, Rublev 12-5. Baez has won twice this week at Bastad, while Rublev won his opening match against Andrea Pellegrino. Rublev and Pellegrino traded tiebreaker wins in the first two sets before Rublev finally broke serve in the third, the first time either player broke serve in that match. Rublev will want to improve his return game and see if he can make inroads on Baez’s serve. Baez has had an ordinary 2026 season, but clay is his best surface, so he will be gunning for the No. 1 seed and a spot in the semifinals.

Best Bet to Make

Parlay options: Baez +1.5 sets at 1.50 @bet365, Baez +3.5 games at 1.60 at @betsson

Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 5 – bet no more than two thirds of a unit on this match.

Rublev has never been known as a player who reaches his full potential. He has occasional moments of brilliance but is not the picture of consistency. Baez has not enjoyed an especially good season, but it remains true that clay is his best surface and therefore the surface where he must be taken seriously. This feels like an ATP Bastad match in which Baez will push Rublev, but it will be hard to expect the No. 8 seed to go all the way and finish off the upset. One or two Baez parlays plus a Rublev moneyline main bet is not a bad way to approach this match, but we’re not going to express extreme confidence in the outcome, since Rublev is not Mr. Reliable on the ATP Tour.

That being said, betting on Rublev moneyline is the best bet you can make

Value bet/ the best odds: Rublev moneyline @1.65 @1xbet

Adolfo Daniel Vallejo – Stefano Travaglia: 5:00 EST

H2H: 0-0

These players come into the ATP Bastad quarterfinals having notched quality wins over players every tennis bettor knows well. Adolfo Daniel Vallejo beat Botic Van De Zandschulp earlier this week. Stefano Travaglia defeated the talented Mariano Navone, and he did so very easily, 6-4 6-2. Travaglia might be ranked only No. 150 in the world, compared to No. 71 for Vallejo, but Travaglia did not look like a 150th-ranked player when he took down Navone so convincingly. It will be very interesting to see if Travaglia carries his form into this match, or if he gets exposed by Vallejo, who has won a very impressive 34 clay tennis matches in 2026.

Best Bet to Make

Parlay options: Vallejo moneyline at 1.43 at @pinnacle, Travaglia +1.5 sets at 1.80 @coral

Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 4 – Bet no more than half a unit on this match.

Adolfo Daniel Vallejo has 34 clay match wins this year, but not against the elites of the ATP Tour. He has feasted on beatable competition. Stefano Travaglia has won 14 clay matches this year and has a winning record (14-11) on the surface. It’s not as though Travaglia is a below-average clay tennis player; he isn’t. Vallejo being very successful this year matters, but Travaglia isn’t a tomato can on the surface. Phrased differently, it’s not as though this is a match between a good player and a bad player; it’s a match between a good player (Travaglia) and a better, more in-form player (Vallejo). That difference makes us think Travaglia is being a little undervalued here, especially on the game spread, but with Vallejo’s clay form, we’re not going to be too bullish on our investment.

That being said, betting on Travaglia +4.5 games is the best bet you can make.

Value bet/ the best odds: Travaglia +4.5 games @1.67 @unibet

Alejandro Tabilo – Thiago Agustin Tirante: 9:30 EST

H2H: 3-1

These are two in-form clay tennis players, both seeded at ATP Bastad (Tabilo No. 3, Tirante No. 7). Alejandro Tabilo is 25-10 on clay this year, while Thiago Agustin Tirante is 16-8. Both are winning lots of clay matches, and both are winning a lot more than they lose (better than 66 percent). Tabilo is coming off a win over Lautaro Midon, while Tirante just beat Nikoloz Basilashvili. On a Friday with three different matches involving two seeded players, this one is not to be overlooked. It should be a compelling contest in Sweden.

Best Bet to Make

Parlay options: Tabilo moneyline at 1.79 at @betfair, Tirante +1.5 sets at 1.43 @1xbet

Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 4 – Bet no more than half a unit on this match.

This is not an easy match to predict. Tirante toughed it out against Basilashvili in the Round of 16. Though Basilashvili is not a high-ranked player, that’s still a really good win for Tirante because Basilashvili is very talented. Tabilo, with his 25 clay match wins this year, is hard to bet against on clay, but Tirante is no slouch. Tabilo is not a massive betting favorite in the sportsbooks, so if you wanted to simply go with Tabilo moneyline, that’s not a bad bet at all. However, this match seems to set up well for an extended three-set battle. If Tirante physically recovers from his three-setter against Basilashvili, he will probably be good enough to push this into a third set, but there are no guarantees. We are not treating this as a match you should be rushing to bet on.

That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is the best bet you can make.

Value bet/ the best odds: over 2.5 sets @2.23 @betsson

Main Photo Credit: Jonathan Hui-Imagn Images

The ATP Bastad post-Wimbledon clay tennis tournament has reached the quarterfinals, set for Friday .
