It’s a week for players who either love clay tennis or who were not able to play much during grass season. Players who didn’t go deep at Wimbledon and need match play, either for rankings points or to simply regain physical stamina before the North American hardcourt season in August, are playing these ATP 250 events. Bastad, in Sweden, is one of the three this week alongside Gstaad in Switzerland and Umag in Croatia. You’re not going to find many top-20 players here, but you are going to find players hungry to do something while the elites stay home and recover from Wimbledon. LWOS has our best bets for three matches. It’s one of the best matches you will find on the Wednesday ATP schedule during this week of 250-point tournaments. It’s as good a match as any tennis fan (or bettor) can reasonably expect.

Dimitrov got past Dalibor Svrcina in three sets earlier this week. It was his first ATP Tour win of 2026, pushing his record to 1-5 on clay this year. Borges defeated Moise Kouame in straight sets, moving his 2026 record on clay to 7-7. We remarked earlier in the week that it felt strange that Dimitrov is playing a clay 250 this week after a Round of 16 result at Wimbledon in which he played multiple five-set matches. It’s not a conventional or typical decision. Dimitrov got past his first test this week in Bastad, but Borges is an even tougher challenge, at least on paper.

Best Bet to Make

Welcome to our best bet section. He beat Svrcina but did not dominate. It would certainly seem that Borges is the much more likely player to win this match, but Dimitrov has obvious natural talent and can’t be dismissed too easily. You can see that we have a Borges moneyline-Dimitrov set spread pair of parlay pieces. You could simply stop there, but if you want to go further with your betting action on this match, the lean should be to Borges.

That being said, betting on Borges -2.5 games is the best bet you can make.

Value bet/ the best odds: Borges -2.5 games at 1.83 @bet365

Stefano Travaglia – Mariano Navone: 8:00 EST

H2H: 0-0

ATP Bastad continues on Wednesday with Stefano Travaglia facing Mariano Navone in a battle of players who like playing on clay and have accumulated a fair amount of match play on the surface in 2026. Travaglia is ranked roughly 100 spots lower than Navone, but he has a respectable 13-11 record on clay this year, while Navone is slightly but not dramatically better at 15-9 on clay. The statistics and the two players’ profiles would suggest that Navone should be the betting favorite, and he is, but the better question is how close Travaglia is ready to make this match.

Best Bet to Make

Parlay options: Travaglia +5.5 games at 1.80 @bet365

Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 3 – bet no more than half a unit on this match.

If you insist on betting here, do insert a Travaglia parlay piece. Although he is the obvious and appropriate underdog at the sportsbooks, he can clearly play on clay. He has a winning record in a reasonably high volume of matches this year (24 total matches, 13 wins). That shouldn’t be disregarded. However, Navone relishes playing on clay and has the better overall profile compared to Travaglia. It’s not a great match to bet on, but your main bet should go to Navone if you have to put down something on this contest.

That being said, betting on Navone winning 2:0 is the best bet you can make

Value bet/ the best odds: Navone winning 2:0 @1.62 @unibet

Daniel Altmaier – Luciano Darderi: 9:30 EST

H2H: 2-1

Daniel Altmaier beat Hugo Gaston in straight sets to start his ATP Bastad adventure. Luciano Darderi is a rare example of a top-20 player (ranked No. 18) playing a post-Wimbledon ATP 250. Altmaier and Darderi have both played a lot of clay tennis this year. Altmaier is 12-11 on clay to this point in the season, while Darderi is an impressive 20-10. The natural lean is to Darderi for that obvious reason, but Altmaier is a top-60 player who looked good in his most recent match and has shown that he can at least bother higher-ranked players, even though he doesn’t usually beat them.

Best Bet to Make

Parlay options: Darderi moneyline at 1.57 at @pinnacle, Altmaier +1.5 sets at 1.61 @unibet

Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 3 – Bet no more than half a unit on this match.

The Darderi moneyline-Altmaier set spread pair of parlay pieces is evenly priced, so there’s a decent chance of moving two parlay tickets there for nearly equal prices.
