Damir Dzumhur vs Henrique Rocha<\/h4>\n

Damir Dzumhur will still be nursing the wounds of Wimbledon, where he let a set-and-a-break lead slip against home hope Arthur Fery, who rode that momentum all the way to the semi-finals in SW19. Now the Bosnian retreats to the clay, historically his happiest hunting ground, but the form book offers little comfort.<\/p>\n

Standing in his way is Henrique Rocha, who has no tour-level win to his name this season despite pocketing two Challenger titles. On paper, Dzumhur’s clay pedigree and experience make him the favourite, but given his shaky recent form, this first-round clash looks anything but a formality, and Rocha, with nothing to lose, could well make it uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

Marco Trungelliti vs Kyrian Jacquet<\/h4>\n

Kyrian Jacquet arrives on the back of a golden run through the grass-court swing that landed him in the second round at Wimbledon, a streak eventually snapped by the unpredictable brilliance of Alexander Bublik. It’s been a season of steady progress for the Frenchman, headlined by a Challenger title and three further semi-final finishes, proof that his grass-court form is no fluke but the product of a genuinely improving all-round game.<\/p>\n

He will have his work cut out against Marco Trungelliti, who is enjoying a career-best campaign that has seen him crack the world’s top 100 for the first time after reaching the final at the Grand Prix Hassan II. The pair have shared a court once before, back at Roland Garros, where the Argentine cruised to a straight-sets win. With that head-to-head advantage and the momentum of a breakout year behind him, he’ll head into this first-round meeting as the man to beat.<\/p>\n

Former champion Du\u0161an Lajovi\u0107 walks onto the terracotta of Stadion Goran Ivani\u0161evi\u0107 as ATP Umag’s defending champion, on the surface where his career has always found some of its truest expression, while Luca Van Assche arrives as a man rebuilding, two Challenger titles already banked in 2026 and a 23-10 record that speaks to a season quietly gathering momentum.<\/p>\n

Expect a battle decided less by firepower and more by patience, the kind of grinding, angle-seeking contest clay so often demands, with Lajovic’s deep-rooted comfort could be enough to see him through in three tightly fought sets.<\/p>\n

Vit Kopriva vs Dino Prizmic<\/h4>\n

Vit Kopriva’s Wimbledon run ended almost as soon as it began, falling in straight sets to Britain’s Jan Choinski in round one, but the Czech has shown he’s far from out of form as he now trades grass for the dirt he calls home. Clay remains where Kopriva does his best work, and this first-round assignment drops him right back into familiar territory.<\/p>\n

Standing in his way at ATP Umag is home favourite Dino Prizmic, who will carry the crowd’s weight on his shoulders. His season peak came at the Italian Open, where a run to the fourth round included a statement win over 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic<\/a>, and he’s reached the quarter-finals at this very event twice. Both men are clay-court operators at heart, but with the home support firmly behind Prizmic and his big-stage pedigree, expect the local favourite to edge this one in a tight, hard-fought contest.<\/p>\n
