In what will be a historic day for Czech tennis, Linda Noskova will take on her compatriot Karolina Muchova in the final at the Championships<\/a>. Both women have played some superb tennis so far at Wimbledon and both will surely come into this match full of confidence as a result. We here at LWOT will be offering our preview and prediction for the final, but who will come out on top?<\/p>\n

Wimbledon Final Prediction<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Linda Noskova vs Karolina Muchova<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Jim: Muchova was excellent against Coco Gauff (for the most part at any rate) and has a game well-suited to grass-court tennis. But when London is sweltering in a heatwave, the courts at Wimbledon don\u2019t just speed up \u2013 they also harden. That makes her slice backhand and her drop volleys less effective. They are still dangerous weapons, but in a match likely to be decided by fine margins, that can make all the difference.<\/p>\n

Particularly because if it becomes a battle from the baseline, it is hard to look past Noskova. The Czech has been so solid since the grass-court season began<\/a> and has been getting real value when she steps in and drives through the ball. She will have to contend with it being her first Grand Slam final, but if she can manage the moment, she should have enough to get past her countrywoman \u2013 though it wouldn\u2019t be a surprise to see this go the distance.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Noskova in 3<\/em><\/p>\n

Cizu: For the second successive Grand Slam, we have unexpected finalists. This is an all-Czech affair, adding further spice. The pair have only dropped two sets apiece and both players also employ tremendous variety, which should make this quite the spectacle. Muchova, one of the most naturally gifted players, is finally making good on her obvious talents this season.<\/p>\n

Her younger compatriot, Noskova, has always looked like a solid player since bursting onto the scene. Muchova, though, has probably had the tougher run-in to the final, having faced some top players with very different game styles and has held firm, remarkably. Noskova has impressed and can certainly make this tricky, but my feeling is that Muchova is now ready for whatever challenge awaits on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Zain: After a gruelling fortnight at the All England Club, it all comes down to an all-Czech final, as Linda Noskova’s power takes on the variety of Karolina Muchova.<\/p>\n

The biggest question coming into this match is whether Muchova is physically 100%, as she looked to be labouring towards the end of her semifinal win. If that is not a concern, this should be a fascinating match in which Noskova’s flatter groundstrokes will try to overwhelm Muchova’s all-court variety and creativity. Fitness concerns aside, I think this surface and stylistic matchup favour Muchova. If she keeps her nerves under control, a first-ever Major title should be there for the taking at Wimbledon.<\/p>\n

Ilemona: An all-Czech final at Wimbledon feels fitting after both players have produced excellent tennis throughout the week. Noskova\u2019s aggressive shot-making and improved consistency have carried her to another deep run, but Muchova\u2019s variety and ability to disrupt opponents with changes of pace make her especially dangerous on quicker courts. Her experience in big matches and willingness to move forward could help her find solutions when the pressure is at its highest. Noskova will push hard with her aggressive shots and could take a set if her serve stays hot. Overall Muchova\u2019s all-round game feels ready for this stage.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Muchova in 3<\/em><\/p>\n

Amanda: It is a first Grand Slam final for Linda Noskova and a second for Karolina Muchova, and that could make a difference at Wimbledon. Noskova has handled nerves well all tournament long, but a maiden Grand Slam final at Wimbledon is an entirely different challenge and Muchova\u2019s experience could give her a slight edge. The only match they\u2019ve played was at last year\u2019s US Open, which Muchova won in three sets, and it wouldn\u2019t be a surprise to see another close match. Both of them are strong on grass and Noskova\u2019s serve will be a tough test for Muchova. However, once they settle into rallies, Noskova is much more error-prone and will be vulnerable if she can\u2019t get to the net. As long as Muchova can dictate points with her shot placement and variety, she should be able to claim this title.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Muchova in 3<\/em><\/p>\n

Jordan: Noskova\u2019s serve will be absolutely pivotal to her hopes. Muchova\u2019s first-serve return is among her weakest shots. The older Czech\u2019s variety during the rallies matches up well against Noskova, though. That dynamic and Muchova\u2019s previous experience in a Grand Slam final makes me think she will get this done.<\/p>\n
