If Djokovic can pull off the upset, he will move within one win of a 25th Major singles title. The <\/span>Wimbledon men’s semifinals<\/span><\/a> begin with wild card Arthur Fery going up against No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev. The rise of Arthur Fery came out of nowhere. Ranked outside the Top 100, Fery had authored an entirely unremarkable career to this point. He hadn\u2019t won a Major tournament main-draw match before 2025. He entered this year\u2019s <\/span>ATP Wimbledon<\/span><\/a> event having gone no further than the second round of the main draw at any major tournament. Compare that to Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and the man he will face in this semifinal, Alexander Zverev. There are three semifinalists with a lot of experience at Majors, and then there\u2019s Arthur Fery. He is the outlier here, but as a literal resident of Wimbledon (that\u2019s true), he definitely feels at home. It\u2019s an even bigger homecourt advantage than being a British player. Zverev comes into this match having won the Roland-Garros title. He looked very strong in the quarterfinals against Taylor Fritz, snapping a long losing streak against the American. There\u2019s a lot to be said for the idea that Zverev is playing more confidently after finally winning a <\/p>\n

Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic: 11:00 EST<\/span><\/h4>\n

Here we go. This is the big one in the ATP Wimbledon semifinals on Friday. Jannik Sinner lost to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open back in January. He then wilted in the Paris heat at Roland-Garros in a shocking loss to Juan Manuel Cerundolo. He hasn\u2019t won a Major title this year. Carlos Alcaraz is injured, so Novak Djokovic figured to be Sinner\u2019s main roadblock on the path to a 2026 Wimbledon championship. This is clearly Sinner\u2019s biggest and most important match of the year. Sinner has not played this tournament as well as he possibly can. He has obviously not been bad (he\u2019s in the semifinals, so he has won five matches), but he has been far from his best. He is not winning sets 6-2m 6-3, 6-1. He is winning a lot of 6-4, 7-5, and 7-6 sets. He is winning the most important points but is not dominating the way he used to. Novak Djokovic just won a five-hour, 15-minute quarterfinal marathon against Felix Auger-Aliassime. For a 39-year-old player, that kind of match would have left him roasted and toasted if he had just one day off before the semifinals, but because he gets two days off, he might be able to recover. The betting markets have Sinner as a very solid favorite precisely because of the doubts surrounding Djokovic\u2019s stamina, which is not quite what it once was. However, the weather is expected to be hot, and Sinner does not handle heat well. That\u2019s one of the really interesting parts of this match: Physical conditioning is not just something the 39-year-old Djokovic has to worry about. It could also affect Sinner.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you are going to put down some parlays on this match, you should have at least one Sinner parlay to offset the Djokovic parlays which exist. Most of the parlay plays and our best bet should be pro-Djokovic, however, because of the weather. It\u2019s going to be hot, and Jannik Sinner does not handle heat well. This is the second semifinal, so it should start late afternoon Wimbledon time, which is one of the hottest parts of the day. If this match does go beyond three sets, which it probably will, there will be a little bit of relief for Sinner in the shade of the shadows which will begin to cover Centre Court, but the temperature will still be very warm if not hot. Djokovic is not a great hot-weather player, either, but Sinner\u2019s body has had a very tough time holding up in these kinds of conditions. Also, as noted above, Sinner is winning a lot of close sets, the kinds of sets which are decided by no more than two games. Sinner will need to win at least one set by three games (6-3) to cover a game spread bet, so Djokovic plus the game spread is our best bet. Because Djokovic did just play a marathon quarterfinal, however, this is not a bet where you push all your chips into the middle of the table. It\u2019s not the ultimate betting situation, but neither is it a terrible betting situation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
