Boulter received the crowd support, but Grant was by far the better and more focused player in a straight-set win which felt routine. Grant will now try to carry the momentum from that match into this battle against Marie Bouzkova.

Best Bet to Make

Bouzkova has been playing well on grass this season. She is 7-1 on grass this year in eight matches. Grant, though, is 4-0 in four matches. The difference, though, is that three of Grant’s four grass wins came in Wimbledon qualifying against competition a few notches lower than what Bouzkova has been playing against for the most part. Bouzkova is the better player overall and the better player on grass. Katie Boulter had a horrible performance against Grant. Don’t expect Bouzkova to do the same. Bouzkova in straight sets is very reasonably priced and is the play to make.

That being said, betting on Bouzkova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Bouzkova winning 2:0 @1.90 @1xbet

Bolkvadze – Krueger: Time 7:30 EST

H2H: 0-0

Ashlyn Krueger pulled a big upset in the WTA Wimbledon first round, partly because of who she played but mostly because of how she did it. Krueger was down a set and 4-1 to Donna Vekic, a player who is actually good on grass. Vekic won a smaller grass tournament a few weeks ago. She is also a former Wimbledon semifinalist. She’s a good player. Krueger was trailing her by a very large margin, but she didn’t quit and somehow came back to win. That was one of the most improbable events of the first round. Krueger will face Miriam Bolkvadze, who was a huge underdog but pulled the upset against Ajla Tomljanovic. Two players coming off upsets now meet each other. This could be very interesting.

Best Bet to Make

The price on Krueger winning in straight sets is not quite good enough for us to recommend that as our best bet, so you could fold that into a parlay. Our recommended standalone wager is the game spread, since set spreads aren’t worth enough here. Krueger did not dominate versus Vekic. She mounted a comeback. She was inconsistent in that match, showing great form late but struggling early. Bolkvadze just pulled an upset of Tomljanovic and will be playing with a lot of confidence. She is playing well enough to make us think this match will be reasonably close. Go with Bolkvadze on the game spread while you use some pro-Krueger parlay pieces.

That being said, betting on Bolkvadze +5.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Bolkvadze +5.5 games @1.86 @1xbet

Eala – Joint: Time 8:00 EST

H2H: 0-1

Maya Joint played Serena Williams in the WTA Wimbledon first round. It was a very tense and close match, with Serena taking a break lead in the third set before her body wore down. Joint was able to rally and finish stronger. She was the fresher, fitter player at the end of the match, and it enabled her to win. Now Joint plays Alexandra Eala, who scored an easy straight-set win in her first-round match and who has been playing well on grass this season. Eala has 10 grass match victories this year, one of the highest totals among women’s tennis players. She is red hot and giving people increasing confidence that she can make a run at the All-England Club.

Best Bet to Make

The form of Eala is impossible to ignore here. Maya Joint was good enough to beat 44-year-old Serena Williams, but Joint will not be facing a 44-year-old here. Eala will be able to retrieve shots Serena was unable to get to. Eala is going to make this match a lot harder for Joint than Serena did, and Serena was still able to take Joint into a third set. Joint has not won many matches this year. This does not figure to be another match Joint will win.
